STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

  1. The Yearbook staff will be selling glow-in-the-dark Black-out shirts for the Nov. 2 Pep-Rally. Short sleeves are $10 and long sleeves are $15. Don't be the ONLY one in the stands not in a cool, glow-in-the-dark shirt! Come by W109 during lunch periods or HR to order your shirt!
  2. Interested in playing Volleyball? Mississippi Impact is a club volleyball team based out of the Metro Area. It is for all ages and skill levels. They are offering camps for basic skills and positional work. Tryouts will be Saturday November 10th. If you are interested come by Coach Denson's room in E207 to pick up the forms for tryouts and Skills Camps. Come between classes or homeroom!
  3. If you missed the art club meeting and did not vote you need to vote for officers before the end of school on Wednesday in room E102
  4. Spirit Night at McAlister’sTuesday, October 23, 2012 from 6-9. Come out and support the Clinton Arrow Kingpins
  5. NHS students: service project for Friday, October 26th as well as Northside dates posted in W207. There are only a few projects left, get signed up if you have not completed your projects.
  6. History club members: sign up for the Halloween party. Also, tombstones are due wed, October 26th.
  7. Honors Science Club Recycling Team will have a meeting during homeroom on Thursday, October 25th in Mr. Lisenbe's room (E209).
  8. NHS students: Project Completion List is posted in W207. Come by to see how many projects you have left to complete before the end of November.

  10. The yearbook staff is selling the COOLEST shades - get yours today - Pre-orders in room W109 or during 4/5. They are $10 - Retro '80's or Oakleys.

GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be given on November 1st. Eleventh and twelfth graders are eligible to take the exam. If you would like to take the ASVAB, you can sign up in the counselor's office on Monday, October 22ndthrough Thursday, October 25th. The ASVAB, developed by the Department of Defense, is an aptitude test which enables students to evaluate their skills, estimate performance in academic and vocational endeavors, and identify potentially satisfying college majors and careers.

Any student that needs a letter of recommendation from their counselor must complete a Counselor Recommendation Packet prior to requesting a recommendation letter. The packet must be fully completed in order for a recommendation letter to be written. Students must allow 5 working days for completion. Please see Mrs. Morgan for a Counselor Recommendation Packet.

MUW Scholars' Day will be held on November 9th, 2012 and March 8, 2013. Students must meet the following criteria: Minimum ACT composite score of 24, Minimum 3.0 College Prep Curriculum, interview required. For an application go to . Application, Transcript and ACT scores must be submitted in order to attend.

Get 2 College/Education Services Foundation will be awarding 50, $1,000 scholarships to students who participate in their 500 word essay contest. Essay topics are "You've just written a 300 word autobiography. Send us page 217." Completed application and essay is due Dec. 1st. The applications can be found in the Career Center in the Counseling Office or online at
