The Database Coordinator is a permanent, part-time based position at MSC’s Tryon Street Campus. We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to serve in this position. As a member of the Philanthropy Department, under the supervision of the Annual Fund Manager, the Database Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to manage donor data entry, gift acknowledgments, queries, donor information and solicitation notes, and report production. In addition, the Database Coordinator will assist the Annual Fund Manager in evaluating data, analyzing reports, and ensuring a high level of data quality.

POSITION TITLE:Database Coordinator (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Philanthropy Department, under the supervision of the Annual Fund Manager, the Database Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to manage donor data entry, gift acknowledgments, queries, donor information and solicitation notes, and report production. In addition, the Database Coordinator will assist the Annual Fund Manager in evaluating data, analyzing reports, and ensuring a high level of data quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Enter data accurately and timely.
- Manage query requests and produce accurate and timely reports.
- Ensure that all database functions comply with expectations and standards set by the Annual Fund Manager, Director of Philanthropy, and/or agency.
- Maintain complete and accurate donor records, solicitation notes, and other pertinent donor-related information.
- Produce timely and accurate gift acknowledgments according to departmental standards.
- Work ahead of deadlines, proof work before submission, and work proactively to support the functions of the Philanthropy Department.
- Coordinate positive and productive interactions between the Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge functions within the agency’s Blackbaud database.
- Work collaboratively with the Accounting Manager and other personnel to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial related information from donors.
- Ensure that donor expectations including restrictions on gifts, communication preferences, and proper identification are properly noted and adhered to.
- Actively participate as a member of the Philanthropy team and attend regular department meetings as required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage own administrative/clerical tasks.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and development activities as directed.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- A Bachelor’s Degree with at least two years of experience managing database functions is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in a nonprofit social services agency preferred.
- Knowledge of fundraising and/or financial software/databases is required; strongly prefer experience managing Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge.
- Strong technology skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Skills required to plan, organize, and coordinate own responsibilities; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; manage multiple priorities; work collaboratively with diverse groups; work effectively with staff, volunteers, clientele, and the public; and prepare and present reports.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Responsibilities of the Database Coordinator typically involve working in an office environment but may occasionally require flexible scheduling and work beyond the regularly scheduled workday.
