HEALING THE EARTH — HEALING OURSELVES

Visionary Ideas & Practical Applications for Nature

“Since February 1998, the Earth has accelerated her cycles of change. We are also urged to accelerate our own processes of change. I try to provide useful insights into the cycles of change and create possibilities for fellow human beings to become creative interactors with the flow of Earth changes.”—Marko Pogacnik

“In the presence of the way of Nature disease has no power; all fear, all depression, all hopelessness can be set aside. There is no disease of itself which is incurable.”Edward Bach / Julian Barnard

The earth is changing. So are we. Toxicity and pollution, loss of countless plant and animal species, water shortages, and ecological and natural disasters permeate the earth. Stress and depression are everywhere, new diseases and viruses threaten us, and across the globe there is enormous suffering from poverty, starvation, and war. All these call out for the need for transformation. One answer lies in attending to the intelligence and wisdom of nature. The earth is a living, spiritual being, with a body, soul, and spirit—just as we are. By returning to nature with a new consciousness and finding new ways of communicating with the healthy living forces and beings in nature, we can begin the gradual ascent to a new earth, a new nature, a new humanity. But to do this, we must learn to think, see, and feel in a new way.

You are invited to participate in a unique event dedicated to the healing and transformation of nature and ourselves. Join SteinerBooks/Anthroposophic Press on Memorial Day weekend (May 28–30) in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts. Come meet and study with internationally known Slovenian geomancer, landscape sculptor, and earth healer Marko Pogacnik and renowned British herbalist, counselor, and Bach flower practitioner, and researcher Julian Barnard.

Themes will include:

  • How to read the gesture of an individual plant
  • Exercises in perception
  • How to work with nature forces and beings
  • How the flower essences are prepared and how they work on the human being
  • How to become sensitive to the intimate relationship between the human and the nature realms

Julian Barnard, co-creator of Healing Herbs Flower Essences, is a professional counselor, teacher, writer, and herbalist with a profound connection to wildflowers and their messages of health and well being. A leading researcher in the field of flower remedies, he has devoted his life to continuing the work of Edward Bach. Born in the Thames Valley in England in 1947, Barnard has lived and worked in Walterstone on the Welsh border for the past twenty years. Oxford educated, he subsequently studied at the Architectural Association in London. Discovering a copy of The Twelve Healers led to his training in herbal medicine with Dorothy Hall in Australia. Julian Barnard’s latest book, Bach Flower Remedies: Form and Function is being published this spring by Lindisfarne Books and will be available at the conference.

Marko Pogacnikis a renowned landscape sculptor, a visual artist, and an earth healer. He visits areas where trauma has occurred and attempts to heal the earth wounds with a technique that he has developed called “lithopuncture.”Working in a way similar to acupuncture, which recognizes that the body is an interconnected network of energy channels or meridians, he places monoliths—effectively, large acupuncture needles—in key places to release the blocked energy of the Earth and revitalize the environment. He also works with groups of people to harmonize the natural environment through the vocalization of certain notes. Pogacnik is the author of many books, including Nature Spirits & Elemental Beings: Working with the Intelligence in Nature, and Earth Changes, Human Destiny. His latest book, Turned Upside Down: Learning to Live with the Coming Earth Changes is being published this spring by Lindisfarne Books and will be available at the conference.
