MEMORANDUM FOR LEBANON HS (LHS) CADET AND PARENT/GUARDIAN(S)

FROM: Lebanon HS AFJROTC

SUBJECT: AFJROTC Cadet Fundraising

1. Cadets will be conducting fundraisers throughout the school year to raise money for individual cadet LHS AFJROTC fundraising accounts and the general Parent Booster Club account. Cadet fundraisers (candy sales, pizza cards, raffles, etc) are strictly cadet managed and profits earned are deposited into individual cadet fundraising accounts monitored by MSgt Thiergart. Parents Booster Club fundraisers are managed by parent boosters the profits are deposited into the general booster club account for support of the LHS AFJROTC program.

2. The Booster Club account helps defray the costs of all AFJROTC activities, while cadets may use individual accounts to pay for any cadet fee associated with attending LHS AFJROTC functions, such as, YMCA Lock-In, Dining Out, Spring Trip, Cedar Point trip, Summer Leadership School, etc. Fundraising profits cannot be used to offset any fees for family members, other cadets, friends, etc.

3. No single cadet should need to pay an activity fee out of their own or their parent/guardian(s) pocket in order to participate in AFJROTC activities -- especially when plenty of fundraising activities are available.

4. Cadet involvement in fundraising is strictly VOLUNTARY; however, in order for a cadet to receive financial support from the Lebanon HS AFJROTC Booster Club each cadet must participate in Booster Club fundraising activities. Failure of a cadet to participate will result in the cadet having to pay full cost to attend an AFJROTC activity without booster club support.

5. As with any fundraiser activity, each cadet and parent/guardian is required to sign a Statement of Understanding, accepting full financial responsibility for all fundraising products requested by the cadet. We anticipate there will be several opportunities for cadets to raise funds, and if each cadet puts in sufficient effort, they could earn more than enough funds to cover their cost of attending AFJROTC activities. This statement of understanding covers all fundraising activities for the school year (2009/20010) and will serve as your general authorization for your cadet to participate in these activities and your understanding of financial responsibility. Each fundraising activity will require you to approve the type of fundraising activity/product your cadet desires to participate in.

6. Please review and sign the attached statement of understanding acknowledging your understanding and your obligation for the full cost of fundraising products ordered by your cadet and approved by you. If you have any questions, please contact Lt Col Bryan or MSgt Thiergart at 513-934-5145.
