PROPOSING A NEW MEMBER

By sharing in the responsibility to see qualified people for unfilled classifications, every Rotarian can help the club achieve a full representation of the business and professional life in the community. Qualified candidates are adult persons of good character and good business or professional reputation. There are a number of steps in proposing a new member and because of the volunteer nature of this organization; this process may take four to eight weeks.

Step 1: If you would like to propose a qualified candidate (adult person of good character and good business or professional reputation) you must fill out the Membership Proposal Form above.

Step 2: The Membership/Classification Committee will review the proposal and select a classification for the proposed member.

Step 3: The Board then takes action and either approves or disapproves.

Step 4: Once approved by the Board a letter is sent to the proposer with a Membership Application. The proposer will inform the proposed member of the responsibilities of membership in Rotary and have them complete the Membership Application and return it to the Administrator.

Step 5: The name of the proposed member will then be published in The Coulee Report for consideration by the club membership. If no objections are received within seven days of the publication of the name, the members will be considered elected to membership.

Step 6: The proposer and proposed member will then be contacted by the Administrator to schedule a brief orientation prior to a weekly Rotary meeting. That day, the proposed member will be introduced and will become a member of the club.
