Consent Items

All of the ART courses are current; only change was to add a FEE of $30.00 to cover the cost of 25 lbs. of clay and glazes. Carmen commented that we used to have fees for our computer courses, but they were eliminated because they were told that the fees had to relate to a finite item that the students received. She wondered how the fee for the 25 lbs. of clay was different. In the case of the computer courses, the cost is related to paper and there is no way to determine how much paper, if any, individual students use. In this case the student will be creating works of art that they can take with them. A fee could also be charged for photography course were specialized paper and ink cartridges are used to create items for the student to take.

Adjournment

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:40 p.m.

If you have any math or English prerequisites for a class you must validate it. Economic courses – university has a prerequisite for economics courses we do not. Cal State required intermediate algebra. If it is required for transfer, we do not have to do a validation. Erika is doing a check on this. Must do a study in order to validate

Individuals who don’t have algebra won’t be successful.
