Meeting Minutes
June 30, 2016
MEMBERS PRESENT: Anne Duncan Cooley, John Adams, David Smith
Call Meeting to Order
Themeeting was called to order at5:30 PM
A motion was made to enter into nonpublic session for legal issues at 5:30 PM. A roll call vote of member’s present was taken with a decision in the affirmative.
The Board resumed the regular meeting at 7:59 PM.
Cooley reported that new brook water testing has been done and that levels now od, except for Dublin Road and Creamery Road Bridge areas. Cooley with do a list-serve update to include date of next testing. Smith will remove postings at areas that are now at levels below the limit. Cooley will give Smith new notices listing the updated list of unsafe sites, and Smith will replace old notice with the new ones where they were posted.
A motion was made to have Donald Pushee’s 2015 tax payment, which was miss applied to 2015 rather than 2013 as requested, the Board approved the request.
A motion was made to enter into nonpublic session for legal issues at 8:13 PM. A roll call vote of member’s present was taken with a decision in the affirmative.
The Board resumed the regular meeting at 8:32 PM.
The Board discussed the Roger’s House possible purchase of a historic easement at no cost to the Town, and the use of a local realtor to market the property with a sale expected by the end of August.
Discussion of the timing of some bills from nonprofits that are coming in. We should contact the organizations and arrange for a more convenient time for payment, such as moving to August and January after taxes come in.
Highway Department – one employee resigned, John A. reported.
Deputy Tax Collector position discussed Tax Collector and deputy appointee to be on the agenda of the next meeting for review of qualifications.
Engineering study of the town office building discussed.
Adams discussed his viewing of Piermont Heights property. Reported to the Board as being possibly an illegal junkyard. The full Board will review the property. For the next meeting discussion of junkyard at various areas in town – general letter to all town residents, possible inspection by the Board in the fall. Also considered was a town-wide mailing reminding all property owners what the definition of an illegal junkyard is and to clean them up if they qualify before the Board is required to take action.
Employee evaluation reviews process was discussed.
Bridge Request for Qualifications opened.
