Confidentiality Agreement

This agreement is formed from the Data Protection Act, which regulates how personal information is used and protects individuals from misuse of personal details. The settings’ work with children and families will sometimes bring us into contact with confidential information. I understand that…

·  I must not discuss individual children, other than for purposes of curriculum planning/group management, with people other than the parents/carers of that child.

·  I must take extra care when completing work at home via BabysDays App that I ensure children’s information is kept safe, secure and confidential.

·  If a parent or staff member needs to talk confidentially, then I must ensure care will be taken to discuss confidential matters in private, such as the office.

·  Information given by parents/carers to the pre-school manager or key worker will not be passed on to other adults without permission.

·  If there any issues to do with my employment, will remain confidential to me and the Pre-School Manager

·  Any anxieties/evidence relating to a child's personal safety will be kept in a confidential file and will not be shared within the group except with the child's keyworker/manager and the chair unless a child is considered ‘At risk of significant harm’ and then our Safeguarding Children Policy will be put into place.

·  For information on Confidential Reporting I can look at our Whistle Blowing Policy

·  All visitors/parent helpers will also be asked to adhere to our Confidentiality Policy.

N.B If you are a students and observing in the preschool, we will advise you of our confidentiality policy and we require you to respect it.

During the course of your employment or as a Committee Member you may be party to confidential information concerning the setting or a child. You shall not during the term of your employment/Committee Member disclose or allow the disclosure of any confidential information, except in the proper course of your employment.

After your employment or Membership on the Committee is terminated you shall not disclose or allow the disclosure of any confidential information gained whilst in the employment of the setting.
