Matters Arising:-

Welcome / Welcome to everybody – thank you for all being parent representatives. A guide to being a Parent Voice representative was handed out to all. Mrs Kelly explained that the purpose of the forum was to hear the voice of parents regarding whole school issues. This was not the place to bring specific child/class issues. There are benefits to helping out too! For future meetings, please can agenda items be with Rosi by the Friday before each meeting. Dates of future meetings are listed below.
Single Equality Duty / Mrs Kelly is required to consult with parents on issues of equality and discrimination, particularly whether or not there is anything further the school can do to give equal opportunities to all. There were new areas of the policy (such as gender re-assignment, sexual orientationand ageism). A discussion followed and members felt the school was open to all and that it was natural that more Mums than Dads that come to school.
The policy needs to be in place by December, so if any parents feel that there are improvements to be made at school regarding equal opportunities, please put a note in the suggestion box or send in an email.
Everyone agreed that the parents are consulted adequately and that as much that can be done is being done.
One Way System around School / It was discussed that frequently it is difficult getting around school when parents have dropped off their children; the path is then blocked for those people coming a little later. Please be considerate and try to keep to the right side of the path when walking around the school.(children walk on the right in school)
It was suggested that a member of school staff, either teacher or teaching assistant could be asked to stand outside to receive the children encouraging parents to not walk through lines.

Meeting closed at 9.25 a.m. Mrs Kelly thanked everyone for their attendance to the Parent Voice Forum~ it is important that parents voices are heard and through this forum changes have been made to school life.
