LPN or CMA

Full-Time to work in a Community Health Center in Williamsburg ,KY. Position is responsible for the following:

1.Prepares patients for examination including the identification os the chief complaint, the taking of vital signs, height, weight, etc. and ensures smooth patient flow throughout clinic.

2. Conducts patients screening for hearing, sight, blood pressure and other simple routine procedures.

3. Collects specimens and delivers them to the laboratory.

4. Assist physicians and midlevel practitioners in healthcare activities, performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures, and the administration of medications as necessary.

5. Ensures an appropriate environment for the administration of healthcare by keeping exam rooms, nurse’s station, all equipment, and other work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.

6. Communicates effectively with all clinical staff and maintains patient confidentiality.

7. Other necessary duties as required to meet the goals of providing primary health care.

Qualifications:

1.Education: Certificate of Practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant with a minimum of 1 year experience..

2. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to relate with warmth and effectiveness to the public, the patient, and the health care providers of the Corporation.

3. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to operate medical equipment in the clinic.

  1. Under the guidance of the physician / supervisor determines appropriate priorities for activities based on work demand.
  2. Maintains own proficiency in performing positive responsibilities through the utilization of in-services, seminars, and other self-directed learning activities.
  3. Maintains awareness of own limitations and seeks guidance from appropriate personnel.
  4. Alert to the direction of errors in own work and the work of others with the appropriate corrective actions initiated.
  5. Ensures that problems /concerns regarding activities in the clinic are communicated to the supervisor.
  6. Maintains current knowledge of operational policies and procedures that impact position responsibilities.

5. Essential Physical Requirements:Able to perform manual effort in positioning, lifting, moving patients, utilizing proper body mechanics. Duties may involve extensive walking and standing.

6.Essential Sensory Requirements: Able to transpose/communicate essential information from one source to another and respond to patient needs.

7. Exposure to Hazards: Potential for musculoskeletal injuries due to lifting patient and/or equipment. May be subject to stress, frustration and fatigue.
