Meeting Minutes - FINAL

September 18, 2013

·  Call to order at: 1:30 PM

·  Introductions –

·  Approval of Minutes: The Secretary made a motion to move the passing of the minutes to October on account that the minutes still need to be reviewed and vetted. The Chairman approved this action and the August draft minutes will be approved in October along with the September draft minutes.

·  Presentation- GDOT’s Statewide Centerline Update Project; Tshaka Malik Al-Kush, Data Manager, Gary Edge- Office of Transportation Data- Geospatial Data Group

·  Committee Reports:

o  SP&P: Jimmy Nolan- Mr. Nolan reported on the SWG and River Valley RC LiDAR and Aerial Collection and offered that 4 counties in River Valley and 3 counties in SWG to have signed on for LiDAR/Aerial collection.

o  Frame work: Jeff Griffin-No report

o  Education and Outreach: Matt Chapman-No report

o  Website: Siva- No updates. Siva did compliment the presenter from today.

o  Regional Commission Member: Tim McGuire- No report

o  GDOT Representative: Tim Poe- Presentation brought forth by GDOT.

·  Chairman Executive Committee Report: Compliment to Mariyana Kostova for receiving her citizenship. The Chairman also announced that Hunter Key has accepted the position as GIS Manager for the Coastal Regional Commission. The Chairman also announced the merge of PhotoScience, Aerometric and Watershed Sciences to form Quantum Spatial. The Chairman also suggested that GISCC do more to recognize contributions that our peers and professionals make in the community.

·  Current Business: Included in the Chairman’s Report.

·  Announcements and Public Comments: Robert is assisting efforts in response to the floods in Colorado right now and suggested that we should leverage lessons from what is going on in the State of Colorado here in Georgia to push forward with the state wide parcel data. Colorado also did not have one centralized place for parcels for the 17 counties that were affected, much less for the state of Colorado. Mr. Thomas suggested that we learn from this situation and apply it to Georgia.

·  Adjournment: Spurgeon Briggs made a motion to adjourn the meeting, the Secretary seconded the motion an and meeting was adjourned.
