Wreath/ Garlands - JR advised a proposal had been received via Council marketing office seeking financial support to fund wreaths/ garlands in Central Geelong.

The Committee reviewed the proposal and agreed the committee was not in a position to fund in 2014 within existing program. Discussion included: need for samples; installation program; willingness of businesses to install garlands; hook location and quality; garlands on light boxes – safety considerations; wreaths versus stickers; could assist in communications and distribution but not fund; spread of businesses; would businesses value wreath if just provided – more potential in future years to subsidise a percentage if businesses also contributed and reused items for a number of years; benefit of this versus additional activation activities to encourage increased spending in Central Geelong.
