Minutes of the Executive Board Meeting January 2, 2018

Meeting called to order by Chief Peter Hany at 1906

Citizens Forum- NTR

Roll Call- Members present were Peter Hany, Simon Hessler, Joe Glomboske, Alisa Smith and Doreen Connor. Members absent were JeanMarie Currier, Dan Hunt and Brandon Clark

Committees:

ERP-NTR, no rep present

Membership-An application was received from April Phelps who came to the meeting to answer any questions. April is a former Rescue Post member attending school in Springfield, MA. Her application was accepted by the board./ list of preceptors was discussed/ A formal complaint was received pertaining to members who are delinquent in fulfilling their duty hours per the bylaws. A discussion followed on the appropriate action to take while conforming to the Disciplinary Code of the Bylaws.

Emergency Management-NTR, next meeting January 8 at 2pm at the Town Hall meeting room

Driver Training- Paul O’Neill is continuing with his training. Joe reminded us that he is available every Saturday at 10:00 for anyone interested in driving

Advisory Board- Next meeting in March

Technology- NTR

Town Staff- NTR, next meeting January 3 at 10:30 at the Town Hall meeting room

Incentive- Last quarter is posted. Members have until January 12 to resolve any discrepancies before it is turned in to the town for processing. Any complaints after that date will have to wait until next quarter

CPR- A class is scheduled for January 6 but no one has signed up thru EMS Manager

Social- The banquet committee met to finalize the dinner menu. The date is still set for January 27 starting at 6pm. A 2 hour open bar is included. Invitations will be placed in members mailboxes

New Ambulance- two demos were brought which were AEV brand and seem to have the quality we would accept/bid packet is being re-written to make it presentable to go out to bid (many items with lines drawn thru them making for an unprofessional bid packet )

Old Business: Service 543 still needs a few items added to be compliant to become a first responder vehicle

New Business: EVAC will be added to the Capital Improvements list for purchase of 9 new Masimo Rad 57 pulse oximeters. Existing units are showing their age-the presentation date to the BOS is Monday January 8 at 1900/ Permission was given by the Finance Dept to purchase one Stryker Power Load System for A543 at a cost of $25,175.21. The new ambulance bid package will include a Power Load System

Training-Request was received for an upcoming seminar/EVFD is extending an invitation to assist with training on proper lifting and the equipment we carry-date is Feb 1, 0900 and 1900

Secretary- Minutes accepted from Dec General meeting

Treasurer-NTR/Congratulations to the Hunt’s with the birth of a new baby

Schedule- Open shifts are available and need to be filled, thanks to all who have stepped up to help

Supply-NTR

Maintenance- Collins Insulation will be returning to finish the job properly/both ambulances are ready for winter/mouse issue seems to have been resolved

Public Relations- Ellington Events articles are due at this time
