LAS VEGAS (January 22, 2013) –The Lemieux TorrefiedCollectionof premium exterior wood doors was introduced today by Masonite at the International Builders’ Show (IBS). Backed by a 20-year warranty, the Lemieux Torrefied Collection by Masonite is the first of its kind in the wood door industry to undergo a protectivetorrefaction process. Torrefaction is an all-natural green process wherewood is heated over time to eliminate its tendency to rot.

The torrefaction process makes wood more structurally stable and highly resistant to heat, cold and moisture. Because of the solid wood construction of the doors, there are no veneers or edgestrips to delaminate. The 20-year guarantee covers any warping, twisting, delamination or rotting that may occur.
The TorrefiedCollectionis offered in each of Lemieux’s 10,000 plus residential entry door design options and custom designs. It is available in maximum 4/0 widths and 8/0 heights and in select grade Douglas Fir, Brazilian Mahogany, Appalachian Poplar and Aspen. Each Torrefied Collection door has matching exterior jambs, brickmoulding and T-astragals.
No other exterior wood door of comparable quality can be installed without the usual overhang requirements. Torrefied Collection doors can also be installed toface direct sunlight and be stained or painted dark tints.
Lemieux Doors subjected its Torrefied Collection of exterior wood doors to rigorous testing for several years. In addition, FP InnovationForintekDivision, Canada’s Wood Products Research Institute and the world’s leading wood component testing lab, also conducted testing to verify the lasting protection provided by the torrefaction process.
