Conahy Notes

MEDAL PRESENTATION

Christy Walsh, former Kerry & Munster hurler and former Coach to Bennettsbridge and Laois Minor hurlers did the honours at the Conahy Shamrocks medal presentation in the Conahy Shamrocks GAA Club House on Friday last. The Conahy Shamrocks footballers returned to the senior grade in 2017 following their relegation to the intermediate grade just a short few months earlier. The side won a close county final against Rower Inistioge.

The Conahy Shamrocks Junior hurlers got the better of Barrow Rangers (Paulstown) in a replayed Paddy Cahill Cup Final. In a close contest Conahy just held out at the finish for a narrow but deserved victory.

Also receiving their county championship medals were the Conahy Shamrocks Junior camogie team. The girls have been making steady progress in recent years and their county final victory in 2017 was well-deserved for the superb efforts of the players all through the year. The camogie team mentors made a number of presentations on the night as follows: Most improved player – Maebh Delaney; Most dedicated player – Emma Cahill; Player of the Year – Siobhán Mullan.

Congratulations and well done to all the players and also the mentors of the three winning teams.
