Primary School Projects
We offer a wide variety of engaging and exciting projects, all of which have a strong environmental emphasis, throughout the year. The projects aim to give pupils a greater awareness of the world they live in and a curiosity to find out more about it for themselves in the future.
All our projects, based on Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curricula, areoutdoor based, very hands on and interactive, and can be tailored to suit a wide variety of ages and abilities
All projects encourage learning and understanding through children discovering things for themselves.
Projects are very cost-effective to ensure as many children as possible can participate; we can often cater for two groups at once. /
Example Projects
Rocks and Soils / Discovering Mini-Beasts
The class discovers several types of rock whilst exploring the Farm, learning about how rocks form and their uses and they will undertake geological experiments to identify rock types.
Pupils learn about soil formation and how the conditions necessary occur in the natural world by making their own soil from material found on the Farm.
To end the day the class has the chance to make their own wormeries to take back to school to continue their studies in geology. / Classes are encouraged to explore the different habitats on the Farm and shown how to identify record and compare their discoveries.
Pupils create their own habitat for a mini-beast, learning more about the creatures and their environment.
Pupils also learn about ecology through taking part in an interactive food web.
