MCNSports Network and MIT Announce Web-Casting Partnership

Initiative Revolutionizes Broadcast Coverage of Division III Athletics

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MCNSports Network and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are pleased to announce a partnership whereby MIT athletic events will be broadcast by the MCNSports Network. The agreement will result in free, live coverage of MIT’s home athletic events and will also include a video-on-demand service.

MIT and MCNSports plan on launching the service during the NCAA Women’s Volleyball New England Regional on Nov. 8-10, which will be hosted by the nationally-ranked Engineers.

MCNSports will continue to focus on broadcasting excellence and will utilize the latest in technology to present MIT sports from many new and exciting camera angles. Leveraging off proven HDX™ technology, MIT events will be streamed using near-HD resolutions, thereby maximizing the total viewer experience.

MIT sponsors one of the largest athletic programs in the nation with 41 intercollegiate teams. While the development of web-casting has created enthusiasm in athletic circles across the country, MCNSports sees MIT’s broad-based program as an opportunity to provide a wide variety of sports programming, and will create a unique user experience for sports such as gymnastics, water polo, fencing, and swimming and diving.
