1. 2014 MCBA/Medical Society/Dental Society Golf Outing, Monday, August 25, 2014

The Annual MCBA Golf Outing is set for Monday, August 25, 2014. This year it will be jointly held with the McLean County Medical Society and the McLean County Dental Society.

Bloomington Country Club will host the outing and the dinner following.

ISU Mock Trial Announcement

5. ISU Invitational Mock Trial Tournament–Save the Dates!

The 13th annual Illinois State University Invitational Mock Trial Tournament will take place on the weekend of Friday throughSunday, November 14-16, 2014. The first round of this intercollegiate competition will take place onFriday evening. Rounds two and three will occur onSaturday morning and afternoon, and the final round is slated forSunday morning. The tournament will again take place at the McLean County Law & Justice Center.

6. 20 Stars for Life, July 10, 2014

MCBA Member Matt Majernik of Allison & Mosby Scott is participating in the Great Plains LIFE Foundation 20 Stars for LIFE event to supportthe"Stay 4" Project®. "Stay 4" is a program designed to identify, help, and retain low income students who demonstrate the ability to succeed, yet are considered to be at risk of dropping out of high school.

Matt needs your support in order to meet his commitment to this program. You can help him reach his goal by clicking on the link below to make an on-line donation.

Also, if you’re available, the 20 Stars for LIFE event will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at The Lafayette Banquet Hall in Bloomington. The evening will feature food, drink, and dancing. Tickets for the event are $25.00 each or $50.00 each for a GLORY ticket. Your ticket purchase will put you in a drawing for a trip for two to Las Vegas. The trip includes round trip air form Peoria to Vegas, two nights at the Flamingo Resort Hotel. You do not need to be present to win.

7. Estate & Charitable Gift Planning Institute, September 16, 2014

The Salvation Army will once again Sponsor the Estate & Charitable Gift Planning Institute which will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
Please SAVE THE DATE and make plans to attend a location nearest you. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS. MCLE, CLE, CPE, CFP and CTFA continuing education credits will be earned for attending. Credit hours will vary for Illinois and Iowa. These will be announced at a later date as they become available.
In the past, the seminar was approved for approximately 6-7 Continuing Education Credit hours including 1 hour of ethics.

8. Next Step Free Financial Education Workshops

Do you have client’s that are financial struggling? Are they facing a major life event such as a divorce and need to re-evaluate their budget? Next Step is a free program to help people become more financially independent through financial coaching and free workshops. On July 14, 2014, Next Step will provide a free workshop on planning for financial transitions. Please see the attached flyers for further details.

9. McLean County Title Co. Fish Fry – Save the Date, August 1, 2014

The Annual McLean County Title Co. Fish Fry will be at Dave Hiltabrand house on August 1, 2014. More details will be available in the near future.
