Notice of Race
McCrae Yacht Club Inc. as the organising authority and in association with Australian High Performance Catamarans invites entries in the 2010 McCrae Catamaran Championship to be conducted on the 20th and 21st of November 2010. The Regatta will be sailed on the waters of Port Phillip off McCrae Yacht Club.
1.RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
2.ADVERTISING
Advertising will be in accordance with Category C of ISAF Regulation 20.
3.ELIGIBILITY
3.1The regatta is open to all off the beach catamaran classes with a current Yachting Victoria Yardstick (whether classified as "primary" or otherwise). Other Off the Beach catamaran classes are also invited to enter and participate, but will not be assigned a score, and will be ineligible for any prizes.
3.2The helmsperson, and when appropriate, the crew shall:
3.2.1be members of a club affiliated with Yachting Victoria Inc. or its equivalent in another State or Territory and be a current Yachting Australia Silver Member, and
3.2.2shall not be changed without prior approval of the Race Committee. Such approval shall only be considered if the application is in writing and a valid reason is given.
3.3Eligible boats may enter on the Entry Form at the McCrae Yacht Club registration desk between 09:00 and 12:00 hours on Saturday, 20th November.
3.4Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Race Committee.
4FEES
4.1Required fees:Single person/ crewed boats:$50.00
Junior Skipper and Crew$30.00
Entries NOT accompanied by the entry fee shall NOT be accepted.

6MEASUREMENTS
Measurement is not required but each boat shall submit proof of holding a valid measurement certificate if requested by the Race Committee.
7SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available after 09:00 hours on Saturday 20th November 2010 at the McCrae Yacht Club registration desk or on the McCrae Yacht Club website.

9THE COURSES
The courses shall be as described in the Sailing Instructions.
10PENALTY SYSTEM
Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.
11SCORING
11.1Three races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
11.2(a) When fewer than four races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b) When four or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.
12PRIZES
Presentations will be held as soon as possible after the last race.
Prizes will also be awarded to the winners and placegetters in each division depending on the number of entries.
Additional prizes may be awarded at the organising authority’s discretion.
13DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
14INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of AUD $5,000,000 per event or the equivalent. Evidence of insurance cover may be requested by the Race Committee at registration.
15AMENDMENT
Any amendments to this Notice of Race shall be posted on the McCrae Yacht Club website ( no later than 17:00 hours on Wednesday, 17th November 2010.
