Minutes – November 11, 2014
The regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Patterson, Louisiana was held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. The meeting was held at 1314 Main Street in the Council meeting room at 7:00 PM.
Mayor Rodney Grogan presided over the meeting.
Councilmembers present: L. Mendoza, J. Rentrop, C. Sawyer, S. Turner and J. Russo, III.
Also present was City Attorney Russel Cremaldi and Clay Breaud of GSE.
7:00 PM – Public Hearing – A zoning variance request at 411 Main Street to replace a 1986 mobile home with a new mobile home. A brief discussion was held. Councilmember Mendoza explained that there would be a time limit on the variance to replace the mobile home. The variance expires a year from this date. Also, they have to abide by the ordinance on setback regulations. No comments from the public were made. Councilmember Rentrop made a motion, seconded by Councilmember Mendoza to close the Public Hearing. The Council unanimously agreed.
REGULAR MEETING
Pastor Steve Potter led the Invocation.
The Mayor offered a moment of silence for all the veterans on Veterans Day.
Councilmember John Rentrop led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion was made by Councilmember Russo, seconded by Councilmember Rentrop to accept the submission of the financial statement with ending date being September 30, 2014 as presented. The Council unanimously agreed.
Motion was made by Councilmember Mendoza and seconded by Councilmember Rentrop to dispense reading the minutes and accept the October minutes as written. The Council unanimously agreed.
Motion made by Councilmember Mendoza and seconded by Councilmember Russo to accept the variance request for 411 Main Street to put a new mobile home. with the stipulations that the Romero’s have one year to replace the existing Mobile Home, and they have to abide by the setback requirements.
Ryan Aucoin announced our Christmas lighting will be November 23, 2014, at 5:30. We will have our annual Christmas parade Sunday, December 14th and a Boat Parade Saturday, December 13th, 2014.
Motion was made by Councilmember Rentrop and seconded by councilmember Mendoza to approve a resolution giving preliminary approval to the issuance of not to exceed One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) of Excess Revenue Bonds of the City of Patterson, State of Louisiana; providing certain terms of said Bonds, making application to the State Bond Commission for the approval of said Bonds, and providing for other matters in connection therewith. Councilmembers voting yeas: L. Mendoza, J. Rentrop, J. Russo, C. Sawyer and S. Turner. Nays: none. Abstaining: None
Motion was made by Councilmember Mendoza and seconded by Councilmember Rentrop to approve a Change Order for the Willow Street Sewers, Taft Street to Martin Luther King Avenue Project. The council unanimously agreed.
Motion was made by Councilmember Mendoza and seconded by Councilmember Turner to adopt a resolution for the acceptance of work performed by Byron Talbot Contractor in accordance with the Certificate of Substantial Completion of the Willow Street Sewers, Taft Street to Martin Luther King Avenue. The Council unanimously agreed.

There being no further business to come before the Mayor and Council, Councilmember Mendoza made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilmember Russo. The Council unanimously agreed.
