Preschool Registration is Still Available for Four Year Olds
Registration for theDearbornPublic SchoolsGSRPPreschool program is now open for the 2014-15 school year. Parents with a child turning 4 years of age byDecember 1, 2014 can obtain an application at the Student Services Department, 18400Audette,Dearborn. 48124, or at the following locations:
Cotter Early Childhood Center, McColloughElementary, SalinaElementary, Whitmore-BollesElementary or right here at Becker Elementary. GSRPPreschool is a free half-day or full day program for children who qualify for entry according to State of Michigan guidelines. We would like for ALL of our students at Becker to have a preschool experience prior to kindergarten! Please inquire, and tell your neighbors!

Last Day of School is Thursday, June 12th!
The last day of school at Becker is Thursday, June 4th. That day is a ½ day with an 11:45 dismissal. School resumes after Labor Day on Tuesday, September 2nd with an 11:45 dismissal.
Special Assemblies to End the School Year
Becker will host several special assemblies over the next few weeks.
- May 14th – Special Assembly to present Nada Fouani with a portrait for the library.
- May 15th – Response to Bullying Behavior assembly.
- May 20th – City Beautiful Alternative Parade – Parents are welcome to help us celebrate our Evergreen Status at Becker with special presentations, a parade at Becker, and special guests!
- May 28th - Sweet Dreamz Assembly – special assembly and students take home a gift!
- June 5th – Parent Volunteer Breakfast @ 8:45 – teachers will send invitations to parents who have helped at Becker this school year for a special breakfast honoring them!
- June 6th – PTA Fun Fair – All Day!
- June 11th – Kindergarten Graduation @ 9:00, and the school picnic at Hemlock.
- June 12th – Fifth Grade Graduation @ 9:30.

PTA Fun Fair on Friday, June 6th!
Becker’s PTA will again host the Annual Fun Fair day for students on Friday, June 6th! Your help is needed! Contact the PTA if you can help make this a day to remember for students! Volunteers are needed to help monitor the inflatables and rides, monitor doors and gates, as well as help with food. Thank you for your participation!
