Through the Milwaukee Mathematics Partnership (MMP), the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee is offering free one-credit courses in summer 2007 for teachers and administrators in the Milwaukee Public Schools. These courses were designed to (1) support the implementation of the six board-adopted mathematics programs and (2) create an opportunity for teachers to deepen their understanding of the program leading to effective mathematics instruction.
Through funding from the National Science Foundation, the MMP allows for waiver of undergraduate resident, off-campus tuition. Enrollment is limited to 35 participants per course. You will be notified through MPS mail in June if you have been accepted into a summer course. UWM course registration will be completed at the first class session.
All of the course readings, projects and assignments will address the following goals and support practical classroom applications.
