Introduction

/ Introduce basic aims of the lesson, i.e. financial sector, its products and why and how people safe. Method: brainstorming.

þ  What is the difference between asalary without and with a tax
þ  How do people spend their salaries / Introduce students the lesson plan and program
After discussion in their desks they try to answer questions from brainstorming /

/ Discuss brainstorming and switch on the topic Why do people save at http://projektysipvz.gytool.cz/ProjektySIPVZ/Default.aspx?uid=602. / Students discuss particular saving motivation methods and their usage or implement their own ideas

Investment tools

Go to Basic Products at http://projektysipvz.gytool.cz/ProjektySIPVZ/Default.aspx?uid=602. We recommend preparing basic overview of investment tools in PowerPoint. In this part you should stress the relationship between the amount of profit and investment risk and demonstrate particular example e.g. cooperative saving institutions.

/ With the help of their teachers, students try to explain basic features of the products and their safety for an investor as well as the size of investor’s profit. / NOTE: This part is possible to be taught in a computer lab and students can, for example, open www.projektySIPVZ.gytool.cz., study the chapter Basic Products by themselves and then add their own ideas.

Banking system in the CR

/ Ask questions: Which banks do you know? Which of them would you choose and why? Discuss changes in the banking sector after 1989, its crises, development and area of stabilization today. Then ask where students would look up information about banks and their products. Ask whether all banks have the same products and the same profitability for client.
(EXPLAIN THE STUDENTS, THAT THE WORDS CLIENT OR CUSTOMER ARE USED WHILE BUYING ASERVICE OR APRODUCT, RESPECTIVELY).
For your PowerPoint presentation prepare a list of banking institutions in CR. Use link

They share their opinion and find possible answers to teacher’s questions.
