Course Description

This class is designed for the student to explore different techniques and design aspects in drawing and painting. Exposing students to the aesthetics relevant to various media and techniques of the cultures from which they evolved is part of the process. Students will create original art using the Principles & Elements of Design in projects such as: pencil renderings, charcoal, oil pastel, colored pencil, watercolor pencil, marker, tempera paint, acrylic and computer generated. Students will learn to evaluate, analyze, and critique their own work and that of others in a productive way using art specific vocabulary.

Different mediums in Drawing & Painting may include but are not limited to:

Course Outcomes

Course Requirements

·  Students are required to complete each lesson in varied media to gain an understanding of all aspects of art.

·  Work missed during an absence must be made up.
