FAQ: 1. When is homework due? After we cover material in class, you have one class to ask questions about a homework assignment. So, a homework assignment is due in the second class after the material is presented in class. You can look on this schedule, find the date the homework was assigned and move down the schedule (or forward in time) two classes to the due date for that homework set.

2. What is the format for turning in homework when problems are assigned from two text sections? Here is an excerpt from the course Syllabus which answers this question:

Please turn in Homework from different text sections of the text ON SEPARATE PAGES.PUT the section identifier (such as 1.4a, 1.4b, 2.2a) at the top of the first page of homework.� Staple homework on loose-leaf paper from a single section of the text together (if you have more than one page of homework to turn in for that section).� PLEASE DO NOT PUT PROBLEMS FROM TWO DIFFERENT SECTIONS ON THE SAME PIECE OF PAPER OR ON PIECES OF PAPER STAPLED TOGETHER.

3. What are the problems not in parentheses?� These are the problems to turn in.� In general, they are the regular exercises in the text and NOT the writing exercises.

4. What are the problems in parentheses? Problems in parentheses are �suggested�: know how to work them but do not turn them in.�You may ask questions about them in class.
