Instructions

You have been asked by your parents to start thinking about what you will do with your life after you graduate from high school. They are withholding your allowance until you demonstrate to them that you have considered several occupations and compared the benefits and draw-backs of each. In this project, you will compare three jobs, and present your parents with a poster describing the occupation of your choice. Your parents require you to submit an “Occupation Information Sheet” for each of the jobs you researched, as well as the poster depicting your preferred occupation.

Occupation Information Sheet Instructions

  1. Use the web site research 3 jobs of interest to you.
  2. Complete an “Occupation Information Sheet” neatly, and completely for eachjob you have chosen.

Poster Instructions

Create a poster illustrating one of the three jobs you researched. Your poster must include the following:

  1. Title of occupation
  2. Some illustration showing what is involved in the job. This could be in the form of a drawing, magazine or internet pictures, etc...
  3. An approptiate “motto” which reflects what you will do in that occupation.
  4. A sample pay stub for one month’s work on this job. This pay cheque should reflect the way you get paid in that job (hourly, commission, salary, etc…) and include all deductions as discussed in class, and could include union dues and pension contributions if your job has them. You may use the one below as a guide, but please add what is necessary for your job.
