Emergency overview: May cause eye irritation; may be harmful if
swallowed.
Appearance: ~298°C (568°F)
Flash Point: n/a
Potential Health Effects
Eye: May cause eye irritation.
Skin: May cause skin irritation.
Ingestion: May be harmful if swallowed.
Inhalation: MMay cause mild respiratory irritation.
Chronic:
None of the components of this substance present >0.1% is listed as a
carcinogen or suspected carcinogen by NTP, IARC, or OSHA.
Other:
At temperatures above 150°C (300°F) in an oxygen containing atmosphere, this
product may generate formaldehyde, due to the presence of methylpolysiloxanes.
Formaldehyde is a potential cancer hazard, is an eye and throat irritant, a
skin and respiratory sensitizer, and an acute toxic hazard. For more
information see our msds @ http://www.2spi.com/catalog/msds/msds02614.html.
Section 4: First Aid Measures
Eyes:
Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes, holding the
eyelids open. If irritation occurs or persists, seek medical attention.
Skin:
In case of skin contact, wash contaminated area with copious amounts of soap
and water.
Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. If victim is alert and conscious, give one cupful of
water or milk and seek medical attention.
Inhalation:
In case of symptoms, remove to fresh air. Seek medical attention is symptoms
persist.
Notes to Physician: None known.
Section 5: Fire Fighting Measures
Flash Point: 298°C (568°F)
Explosion Limits:
Upper: n/a
Lower: n/a
Autoignition Temperature: n/a
General Information:
Wear a NIOSH approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus
and firefighter turnout gear. There could be the evolution of toxic products
of combustion. Firefighting equipment should be fully decontaminated after use.
Extinguishing Media:
Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide, Silicon dioxide, Formaldehyde
Hazardous Combustion Products:
All standard extinguishing media are suitable.
Section 6: Accidental Release Measures
General Information:
Wear protective equipment as detailed in the protective equipment section.
Spills/Leaks:
Scrape up, wipe up, or soak up in an inert material and place in a suitable
container for disposal. To reduce slipping hazard, wash walking surfaces with
detergent and water once pick-up is complete.
Section 7: Handling and Storage
Handling:
Use only in well ventilated areas. Avoid inhalation of vapor or mist. Avoid
contact with skin or eyes. Wash thoroughly after use. Keep away from children.
Storage:
Store under refrigeration in tightly closed containers.
Section 8: Exposure Controls and Personal Protection
Engineering Controls:
Eyewash station must be available to work area. Use only in well-ventilated
areas.

Respirators:
Use appropriate respiratory protection if irritation is experienced. A
respiratory protection program that meets OSHA 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2
requirements must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant a
respirator's use. If respiratory irritation is experienced, use a NIOSH/MSHA
or European Standard En149 approved respirator.
