Eating Scripturally
The Body of Messiah, I believe has neglected some basic Scriptural commands to eat properly for the health of the body. We are extremely concerned for the spiritual and emotional aspects of our being but not the physical. And please don’t tell me thatHebrews 13:9 says. “Do not be borne about by various and strange teachings.1 For it is good for the heart to be established by favour, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.” Footnote: 1Eph. 4:14.This is not referring to healthy eating, it is referring to the foods, meats, etc. offered on the altar in the temple that they were depending on to bring them favor with Yah. We do not gain favor with Yah whether we eat right or not. Our bodies just won’t live as healthy as He would like.
Matthew 6:31-34 says, “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ “For all these the gentiles seek for. And your heavenly Father knows that you need all these. “But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these matters shall be added to you. “Do not, then, worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow shall have its own worries. Each day has enough evil of itself.”
This is an admonition to be concerned with what you will eat. Father is able and does provide for you as you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. And He will provide the best.
So what did Father give us to eat?
In Genesis 1:29 we find,“And Elohim said, “See, I have given you every plant that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed, to you it is for food.”
Genesis 2:9 says,“And out of the ground יהוהElohim made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, with the tree of life in the midst of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
Obviously this was raw, not cooked.Notice that every plant and fruit that yields seed is food for us for food. If it doesn’t have seed in it, it is not food for us. Pretty simple.
Then after the flood, Father granted men the freedom to eat all living creeping creatures?
Genesis 9:3-7 says, “Every moving creature that lives is food for you. I have given you all, as I gave the green plants. “But do not eat flesh with its life, its blood. “But only your blood for your lives I require, from the hand of every beast I require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother I require the life of man. “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood is shed, for in the image of Elohim has He made man. “As for you, bear fruit and increase, bring forth teemingly in the earth and increase in it.”
The words ‘moving creature’ means reptile. How many of you believe you should eat reptiles? I asked Father about this since it is quite clear that under Mosaic law the reptile is definitely not to be eaten. Basically, the understanding I received is that 1. They were given permission to eat meat because there was no vegetation yet mature enough to eat. 2. Father gave them the ok to eat any meat because if we are free to choose something or not and we love Father, we will do what is right if not forced into it. 3. I believe Father wanted us to figure out what was good for us by how it affected our bodies. As 1Co 6:12 “All is permitted me, but not all do profit. All is permitted me, but I shall not be under authority of any. 13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods – but Elohim shall destroy both it and them. And the body is not for whoring but for the Master, and the Master for the body.”
Exo 22:31 “And you are set-apart men to Me, and you do not eat any meat which is torn to pieces in the field, you throw it to the dogs.
Lev 19:26 ‘Do not eat meat with the blood. Do not practise divination or magic.
So as you can see you can eat whatever you want but it may not profit you, i.e. it may actually harm your body. Especially now with the pesticides and herbicides sprayed on the food and the food additives added to the food. Yes, they say there is not enough preservative in the food to kill you but if you eat 90% of this processed food, you are getting more than enough preservatives and food additives to make yourself sick, full of disease or dead.
Also, I will not tell you not to eat meat but be aware that much of the meat you buy in the markets has the blood added back to it to keep it looking redder and fresher longer. As you saw above we are commanded NOT to eat flesh with the blood in it. Anyone know why He did this? It is a scientific fact that the blood carries the DNA of an animal or person. You will actually take on the characteristics of the animal you eat with the blood in it. Most animals on the market are not kosher killed. They are usually upset and have adrenalin flowing in their bodies when they are killed. Which means you are eating tainted meat. Adrenalin is poison when eaten regularly or in our own bodies for a prolonged period of time.
No FAT
Lev 3:16-17,“‘And the priest shall burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire for a sweet fragrance. All the fat belongs to יהוה.
Lev 3:17 ‘An everlasting law throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you do not eat any fat or any blood.’ ”
We need to drink water. If you do not drink water, you will become faint.
Isa 44:12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.
Num 11:4 And the mixed multitude who were in their midst lusted greatly, so the children of Yisra’ĕl also wept again and said, “Who is giving us meat(flesh) to eat?
Num 11:5 “We remember the fish which we ate without cost in Mitsrayim, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic,
Num 11:6 but now our throat is dried up. There is naught to look at but this manna!”
Num 11:7 Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of bdellium.
Num 11:8 The people went about and gathered it, ground it on millstones or beat it in the mortar, and cooked it in a pot, and made cakes of it. And its taste was as the taste of cakes baked with oil.
Num 11:9 And when the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna fell on it.
Num 11:10 And Mosheh heard the people weeping throughout their clans, each man at the door of his tent. And the displeasure of יהוהburned exceedingly. And in the eyes of Mosheh it was evil, (Why were they weeping? No Flesh, yet)
Num 11:11 so Mosheh said to יהוה, “Why have You done evil to Your servant? And why have I not found favour in Your eyes, to put the burden of all these people on me?
Num 11:12 “Was it I who conceived all these people? Was it I who brought them forth, that You should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as the foster father carries a nursing child,’ to the land which You swore to their fathers?
Num 11:13 “Where am I to get meat(flesh) to give to all these people? For they weep before me, saying, ‘Give us meat(flesh) to eat.’
Psalms 78:18-31,“And they tried Ěl in their heart By asking food according to their desire. (some versions say meat but the word means just food in general)
Psa 78:19 And they spoke against Elohim. They said, “Is Ěl able to set a table in the wilderness?
Psa 78:20 “Look, He struck the rock, So that the waters gushed out, And the streams overflowed. Is He able to give bread also? Would He provide meat for His people?”
Psa 78:21 Therefore יהוהheard, and He was wroth; So a fire was kindled against Yaʽaqoḇ, And displeasure also came up against Yisra’ĕl,
Psa 78:22 Because they did not believe in Elohim, Neither did they trust in His deliverance.
Psa 78:23 Yet He had commanded the clouds above, And opened the doors of the heavens,
Psa 78:24 And He rained down manna on them to eat, And He gave them the grain of the heavens.
Psa 78:25 Men ate bread of the mighty; He sent them provisions to satisfaction.
Psa 78:26 He made an east wind blow in the heavens; And by His power He brought in the south wind.
Psa 78:27 And He rained meat on them like the dust, And winged birds like the sand of the seas,
Psa 78:28 And let them fall in the midst of His camp, All around His Dwelling Place.
Psa 78:29 So they ate and were completely satisfied, For He brought them what they desired.
Psa 78:30 They had not turned away from their desire, Their food was still in their mouths,
Psa 78:31 When the wrath of Elohim came against them, And He slew among their fat ones, And He struck down the choice ones of Yisra’ĕl.”
Psalm 106:13-15, “They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel,
Psa 106:14 But greedily lusted in the wilderness, And tried Ěl in the desert.
Psa 106:15 And He gave them their request, But sent leanness within their being.
Many of the foods we eat that we just do not want to give up are the things we lust after and are usually not good for you. I always warn people not to eat that particular food when you are lusting for it as that food has you. You do not have authority over your body if you cannot resist eating a particular thing. And if you eat that craving you have, you will not hear the Set Apart spirit nearly as well and you will sense that you are not as close to Father as you would like to be.
1Ti 4:1 But the Spirit distinctly says that in latter times some shall fall away from the belief, paying attention to misleading spirits, and teachings of demons,
1Ti 4:2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having been branded on their own conscience,
1Ti 4:3 forbidding to marry, saying to abstain from foods(some versions say meat but the Hebrew word here is food originally created by Yah for food for His people) which Elohim created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 Because every creature (all food) of Elohim is good, and none is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,
1Ti 4:5 for it is set apart by the Word of Elohim and prayer.
1Ti 4:6 If you present these matters to the brothers, you shall be a good servant of יהושעMessiah, being nourished in the words of belief and of the good teaching which you have followed closely.
Please note that you are to eat the foods Elohim created to be received with thanksgiving. The Word ‘creature’ (G2938) means the original creation which happens to be fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds for our food. It is not referring to meat or the flesh of an animal. Even Daniel refused to eat the kings delicacies so that he would not defile or contaminate his body.
Daniel 1:8-20,“But Dani’ĕl laid it upon his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the sovereign’s food, nor with the wine which he drank. So he asked permission from the chief of the eunuchs not to defile himself. 9 And Elohim granted Dani’ĕl kindness and compassion from the chief of the eunuchs, 10 but the chief of the eunuchs said to Dani’ĕl, “I fear my master the sovereign, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would make my head guilty before the sovereign!” 11 And Dani’ĕl said to the overseer whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Dani’ĕl, Ḥananyah, Misha’ĕl, and Azaryah, 12 “Please try your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 “Then let our appearances be examined before you, and the appearances of the young men who eat the portion of the sovereign’s food. And do with your servants as you see fit.” 14 And he listened to them in this matter, and tried them ten days.
15 And at the end of ten days their appearances looked better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the sovereign’s food. 16 And it came to be that the overseer took away their portion of food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables. 17 As for these four young men, Elohim gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom. And Dani’ĕl had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 And at the end of the days, when the sovereign had said that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar. 19 And the sovereign spoke with them, and none among them all were found like Dani’ĕl, Ḥananyah, Misha’ĕl, and Azaryah, so they stood before the sovereign.20 And in any word of wisdom and understanding about which the sovereign examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians, the astrologers, who were in all his reign.”
Notice how healthy Daniel and his friends were compared to the other youths who ate the king’s delicacies. We have recently found out that all grown vegetaion that is grown in the sun receives biophotons into their cells. Biophotons are light measured by nanometers. When we eat live food we are taking these biophotons into our bodies and nourishing our own bodies with the light our body needs to be able to communicate with itself. One square centimeter of our skin glows with 100 nanometers of biophotons. If you don’t nourish your body with live food, the amount of biophotons diminishes.
Yahushua came to give us light. This is the same type of light.
