A soft copy of your photograph is needed for your SMU student card.

MASTERS OF LAW AUDITING PROGRAMME
Common Law & Legal Writing Workshop
Interested parties can apply to attend the Introduction to Common Law Workshop (of 4 sessions of 3 hours each) or Legal Writing Workshop (of 2 sessions of 2 hours each)offered by the SMU School of Law. The feesare S$800 and S$400 respectively.*
If you attend the Common Law Workshopas well as audit a course, the fee for the workshop will be S$500* instead.
If you attend both the Common Law and Legal Writing Workshops, the fee for both will be S$1,000* instead of S$1,200.
A visitor’s pass will be issued to those attending the workshops.
Courses in the LLM Programme
Auditing without assessment - Auditee
Interested parties can apply to audit selected LLM courses offered by the SMU School of Law at S$4,000* per module. Each course has 10 sessions of 3 hours each.
Auditees have to be highly proficient in English and must abide by the guidelines of the course instructor and participate actively in class. Auditees are exempted from course assessment.
An auditee who attends at least 80% of the classes will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course.
Auditing with assessment- Guest Participant
Alternatively, interested parties may wish to be assessed and graded for their audit module.
You will be assessed in the same manner as LLM participants in the course. A Certificate of Completion reflecting the grade obtained will be issued at the end of the course.
With effect from 2013, the completed course may be taken into account if you apply for enrollment in the LLM programme in the following academic year (i.e. if you audit the course in 2013, it will be taken into account in your enrollment application in 2014). Upon admission into the programme, youmay be exempted from the module(s) (up to a maximum of 2 modules) and the exemption(s) will be recorded in the transcript.
Library & Sport Facilities Access
Guest participants are granted access to the SMU Li Ka Shing Library with borrowing privileges. Only on-site access to the Library’s electronic databases (ebooks / journals / databases) and restricted copyrighted materials will be granted. Access to SMU sports facilities is not granted.
Student Visa Application
Overseas parties auditing the course are not entitled to apply for Student Visa. You will be required to apply for your own Visa/Pass. Please refer to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website -
Class Hours
Classes are conducted in the morning (9am to 12nn) and in the afternoon (2pm – 5pm) on the dates indicated in Annex A.

Auditing Fees
Organisations with 3 or more participants auditing in ONE term will receive a 10% discount on the course fees. Please email for details.
Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “SMU”. Please indicate name and contact number at the back of the cheque.
*The Goods and Services Tax (GST) is included in the application fees. Please note that the fees can only be refunded if the course is cancelled or if the application is withdrawn before the issuance of the student card. The fees would not be refunded because of non- or partial attendance of the course.
