The Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship program will have a great impact on my life and help me take the leap into becoming a successful business leader throughout out native country. It will provide me with an opportunity to attend American Indian Entrepreneurship MBA program at Gonzaga University. Within this program, it will enable me to gain the educational knowledge and skills set that is needed to become a proficient small business consultant for up and coming Native American entrepreneurs. After graduating with my bachelors in business management, I found a sufficient need on the reservation for small business consulting. There was an abundance of local Native American tribal members that have reached out to me on starting their own business. Given my business background, education and experience in entrepreneurship they felt I was a trust worthy resource. I gave them additional guidance on where they could get consulting at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). I followed up with them later and found that their wants and needs were not sufficiently met due to the limited duration of time for their consultation.

After hearing the local community members concerns, I established a small business consulting firm in the month of March 2017. My sustainable competitive advantage among local competitors is building rapport and by giving them one on one consultation from start to finish. In conjunction with helping Native Americans, another advantage that I would have is my Native American background and affiliation.

Upon, completing my MBA program, my planaction will consist of reaching out to local and out of state Native American tribes for an educational presentation on my consulting service.Throughout my presentation I will express the sufficient need for economic growth and development on the reservations. Provided, I will express the exponential growth for the local community by capitalizing on the utilization of local resources on the reservation to help with the sustainability of businesses. New small business owners looking to gain financial assistance from the banking industry, within my consultation service I will help in the process to create a solid business plans that will show the financial continuation of profitsand financial expansion of the business. In order to counter entrepreneurs being discouraged from the being turned away from lending opportunities, I will insist on each of the business owners opening a personal banking account that will show cash flow from other amenities, therefore proving to the financial service that a small business loan can be secured by the current cash flow of the personal account.
