Tour Price Includes
HOTELS: / Hotels are based on two persons sharing one room Twin Share (two beds), unless Singles Supplement is chosen. Hotels listed in the itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms have private facilities unless specified. Not all hotels are five-star to keep the tour price low and in order to captivate the 'local' experience.
MEALS: / All meals provided are specified in the itinerary (BLD). Most meals are covered but there are usually two lunches and two dinners not covered during the tour. A special welcome and farewell dinner are always provided. Unlike standard tours, meals are of a high standard, not the usual mass produced fried rice and sweet and sour pork type dishes alone. The price is based on normal meals. If you have any special request for meals, such as strictly vegetarian, or Indian food etc., please inform us. An additional meal charge may apply if special meals need to be arranged for you in advance. If you have very strict dietary requirements, visiting China may not be the place for you, however there are usually some gluten free options. In northern China steamed or fried buns (wheat) are usually served rather than rice, so if you cannot eat steamed buns please let us know.)
TRANSFERS: / As per itinerary, transfers are provided between train stations, airports, hotels and scenic spots while on tour. It is your responsibility to make your way to the arrival meeting point and back to the airport upon departure. Details will be given.
TRANSPORTATION: / On tour to provide variety, several modes of transportation are usually chosen such as charter bus, bullet train, ferry boat, aeroplane, local train, tramcar, cable car, public bus, cruise boat, pushbike, subway, and many times, on foot, etc. Please bring good walking shoes!
TOUR ESCORT: / As outlined in the itinerary, on several occasions we will be escorted by English-speaking guides who will accompany us and provide local insights and info. The guides usually eat separately and do not usually travel with us from one city to another. Master Jodi will accompany the group all the way throughout the tour and will spend time to provide expert Feng Shui tuition daily.
ENTRANCE FEES: / To scenic spots are included as listed in the itinerary. Occasionally, extra activities may be suggested at your own expense during your time off (which is usually one half day/two evenings during the tour).
TAXES & SERVICE CHARGES: / Included for all services provided on tour.
LUGGAGE TRANSFERS: / You are responsible for transportation of your own luggage to and from arrival and departure hotel.
BAGGAGE: / Please do not bring oversize or heavy baggage.A medium sized suitcase is recommended. Smaller buses do not have luggage bays underneath so all luggage is stowed in the back of the bus. During transfers in some busy train stations you will have to carry luggage yourself. Please restrict your checked luggage weight to 20kg(44lb) when boarding aircraft. All luggage will be weighed. As a group sometimes we can distribute extra weight but each bag cannot exceed 23kg due to health and safety regulations. (Bring less clothing and accessories, you will have an empty suitcase for shopping items!).
TOUR MANUAL: / A printed Feng Shui Tour manual and workbook with info on Feng Shui is provided every tour. Master Jodi spares no expense and effort and takes six months annually putting this manual together. In the manual you will find info about the visited sites, discussions about Feng Shui theories, practical questions and answers and places to write notes and answer questions. We will discuss and take notes whilst en route.
FENG SHUI KIT: / Various items of Feng Shui significance including templates and charts are included.
FENG SHUI TOUR CERTIFICATE: / A beautiful Certificate of Completion is issued to keep and display.

Tour Operators
1. / Master Jodi carefully chooses the places we will visit every year in order to find the best possible Feng Shui locations in different regions of China. Every year her tours get better and better in terms of content, organisation and Feng Shui knowledge-sharing.

2. / Master Jodi was looking for a reliable tour operator within China who could help with the finer details of booking, managing and running her tours. She met Mr Tan in Shanghai at a Travel Trade Expo in a strange example of 'yuan fen' ('fateful coincidence') in 2015 and they have worked together every year since.

Additional Info
Passport and Visa Requirements
You will be required to produce your passport upon entering China, hotel check in, at train stations and airports. When you apply for your visa you will need to provide a passport-sized photo, monetary payment and your full travel itinerary within China including hotels. We will provide you with the dates and a list of hotels in which you will be staying on the official travel company letterhead.
It is your responsibility to apply for a China Tourist Visa via the Chinese Consulate in your country. When you apply for your visa you will be required to produce photo ID, monetary payment and your full travel itinerary within China. We will provide you with the dates and a list of hotels in which you will be staying on the official travel company letterhead.
You will need to purchase a visa for China from your country before leaving for the tour. Allot at least two weeks to get a visa to be safe (you can also pay extra for a speedy visa). In Australia go to and follow link on left hand side for Visa Instruction to download a visa application or ask your travel agent, they can usually do the paperwork for you.
Here’s some hints for filling out the application:
Section 2. Your visit to China - Tourism
2.2 Intended number of entries - Single entry within 3 months.
2.3 Date of entry – Enter date of first day of tour (or earlier if you intend to arrive before).
2.4 Longest intended stay – 11 days (or more if you are staying on in China before/after the tour).
2.5 Counties/Cities to visit in time sequence – see attached Itinerary.
4.7 Name of inviter… - write ‘Tourist, no contact person in China’ (print out a copy of your Visa Letter that we will send you and submit this to the Chinese consulate with your application).
WiFi
Many public spaces such as airports, train stations and hotel lobbies have free WiFi. Most hotels selected for this tour offer WiFi either for free in rooms or lobby, or at low cost.
Exchange Rates

For your own shopping requirements, purchase Chinese Yuan before the start of the tour (the rate is generally better in China than if you purchase from another country and the rate is better from a bank than from Foreign Exchange at the airport).
Credit card is accepted in many places these days except street markets – mainly; but cash is safer/easier. Don’t forget to notify your bank you are going overseas so they do not block use of your card for suspicious foreign transactions.
Most hotels offer currency exchange at Reception but this is not always the case. There is also a cash retrieval/travel card you can organize with your bank in your home country. However, not all ATM's or retailers will accept foreign cards.
Weather
The best time to travel world-wide in our opinion is spring or autumn, because then the change of weather between your home and destination is not that severe. October is autumn in China but it will be mild and cool. Check online before leaving. Do not pack too many clothes.
Additional Info
The tour is aimed at Feng Shui practitioners and students with some prior knowledge of Feng Shui. If you are not familiar with the Flying Stars system or would like another perspective, then you may wish to join the online Introduction to Flying Stars course which Master Jodi will be presenting over 2 x 2 hours online using and The course will be held in August 2018.
Culture Shock
For those of you who have never been to China (let alone Asia), here’s a few tips:-
  • At the airport if it should so happen, do not allow the taxi drivers to hassle you, tell them to go away.
  • Always choose a taxi with a light on top and a meter, not a private vehicle.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and do not have valuables on display or wear too much jewellery. Hold your handbag in front of your body or don’t carry one. Keep your passport and money in an inside section of your bag.
  • English may be spoken in major cities but once we leave the big cities there is less or no English spoken. ‘Sign language’ and humour are always good.
  • When we check in to the various hotels, grab a business card in Chinese so that you have the address, just in case for some strange reason you need to return to the hotel on your own (for instance if you get lost and we cannot find you, return to the bus or catch a taxi to the hotel).
What to Bring With You
  • Sufficient cash exchanged to CNY (Chinese Yuan, Renminbi – RMB) prior to the tour please.
  • If you want to communicate with people at home, purchasing a local sim card is virtually impossible these days. Best to set up an account which includes data if you want it, with the mobile phone service provider in your country. It is unknown whether there is wifi available in every one of the hotels – remember when overseas your phone calls from your mobile will be very expensive, do not use global roaming. Master Jodi has an international mobile phone with unlimited international calls and you can use it to call home if necessary.
  • WeChat is very popular in China and a really great way to keep in touch with the group and exchange photos and messages. We will have a group that everyone can participate in. It can be used in hotels with wifi or on the road using your data. Easiest is to download the WeChat app before leaving for China.
  • There is no Facebook or Google/Gmail in China because of the ‘Great Firewall.’ If you need access you should subscribe to a VPN (Virtual Private Network). We recommend You will be able to use your VPN whenever wifi or data is available.
  • Bring yourLuo Pan or your favourite compass.
  • Camera and spare memory sticks/sim cards. Spare batteries.
  • Comfortable walking shoes.
  • A jacket for cool or rainy weather.
  • An empty suitcase – there’s plenty of shopping to do! However please remember we will be moving around a lot so bring a suitcase (or rucksack) that you can manage easily.
