ACI Mid-West (Association of Catholics in Ireland): A Public Meeting will be held in the Conference Room in the Redemptorist Monastery in Mt. St. Alphonsus on Tuesday next, October 22nd at 8.00p.m. The role of the laity and Reflections on the interview with Pope Francis will be discussed. Fr. Tony Flannery will attend, and has kindly agreed to sign copies of his new Book “A Question of Conscience” for those who so wish. Copies are available in the Monastery Bookshop at €12.00. All welcome. Refreshments provided.

Gala Fashion Show: Limerick Ladies Football are organising a Gala Fashion Show in The Woodlands Hotel, Adare onThursday,Oct 24th.Tickets: €15.00 each and are available from RayO’Dell at086 8376925.

Castleconnell Craft Fair: Takes place Sunday & Monday of the long weekend (October 27-28), from 12-6pm at the Castle Oaks House Hotel. The Fair, which showcases only Irish-made crafts of the highest quality, is in its 25th year, making it one of the longest running and largest fairs in the Midwest. This year we have over 45 exhibitors from all over Ireland, including great representation from the local area, featuring painting, jewellery, food, copperwork, woodwork, ceramics, to mention but a few. The event is non-profit, with all proceeds going to local voluntary groups. Visitors are assured of a lovely afternoon out, with the opportunity to make a start on their Christmas shopping, try their luck in the raffle, or in the free draw for 2 tickets to see One Direction in Dublin next May. Also, we are very honoured to have the Munster Senior and Minor Hurling Cups on display at the Fair. Follow us on Facebook

Ballyhoura Development: Will be delivering two health care training programmes, one is based in Doon, Co Limerick and the other in Liscarroll, Co. Cork this autumn. The aim of the initiative is to build the skills of women and provide them with a recognised FETAC Level 5 qualification in Health Care that will cover 2 modules of learning. This will help participants to progress by improving their labour market readiness. This training programme is designed to provide practical information and skills for individual women who wish to work in the health care sector. The following FETAC Level 5 modules will be offered, Care Skills and Occupational First Aid with the addition of One to One Career Planning, Profile Analysis and Wellness and Recovery Action Planning. Both of these training programmes will start in October 2013. This course is designed to meet the needs of the ever growing care industry in Ireland. Understanding client care and care settings will be a key part of the training. The course content will give you an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of health care support and with a recognised qualification in the care of the older person. This programme is being delivered with support of the European Social Fund (ESF) under the Human Capital Investment Operational Programme and the Department of Justice and Equality. This programme is funded under the Equality for Women Measure and is managed collaboratively between the Department and Pobal.

Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh: Enrolment applications for 2014 are currently being accepted. The final date for sibling enrolments for 2014 is 25/10/13. Enrolment forms for Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh are available from the school website or from the school office.
