Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund sponsorsPrince Albert 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games.

The Prince Albert 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games organizing committee is pleased to announce the Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund as a major sponsor for the Games in February 2014.

“We are very pleased to welcome the Destination Marketing Fund as a major sponsor for the Saskatchewan Winter Games,” said Al Dyer, chair of organizing committee. “We expect that all of the hotels will be busy hosting the provincial sports governing body officials, the staff from the nine districts, officials, special guests, and many parents and families. This is an opportunity to show off everything Prince Albert has to offer to the 5,000 visitors we expect to have in the city during the Games.”

The Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund is a not-for-profit organization supported by financial contributions from 6 member hotels: Prince Albert Inn; Best Western; Travelodge; Super 8; Ramada; and Quality Hotel. The Fund has committed $40,000 in sponsorship for the Games.

“The Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund and its six member hotels are excited to support the 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games to be hosted in our community,” said Jayne Remenda, Executive Director of the Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund. “Congratulations to the organizers on their success in securing this event. We would like to wish all the best to the athletes, coaches and volunteers in their participation of what is sure to be an experience of a lifetime in our city!”

The mandate of the Fund is to support the attraction and development of major events in our community. The Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund and its 6 member Hotels are excited to support the Saskatchewan Winter Games being hosted in the City Prince Albert in February of 2014.

Dyer said the Prince Albert Destination Marketing Fund sponsorship is an important contribution to the $1.5 million budget for the Games. The 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games will be held in Prince Albert from February 16 to 22, 2014. Approximately 2,000 athletes, coaches and officials will be participating in the event.

“The Games are where many of Saskatchewan’s best young athletes will be competing in their first multi-sport games. It is about developing young athletes, and providing them with an experience they will always remember,” Dyer said.

The organizing committee requires about 1,500 volunteers for the event, including the planning and during the Games. More information about the Prince Albert 2014 Saskatchewan Winter games, including volunteer opportunities, is available online at
