Maryland 4-H Celebrates Month of the Military Child
April 2016 marks the 30th Anniversary of the “Month of the Military Child” celebration. Maryland 4-H invites military children, youth, and families to get involved in Maryland Day, Saturday, April 30, 2016 on the University of Maryland, College Park campus. Military connected youth are invited to participate in one of the following ways:
- Present a 50-500 word speech that focuses on one or more ways military youth demonstrate “Fearless Ideas” Inspiration. Boldness. Curiosity. Passion (This is the theme of Maryland Day)
- Submit a photo (5x7, 8x10, or 11x14) that depicts the 2016 Month of the Military Child theme – “Their Journeys and Adventures”
- Submit a drawing (no larger than 11x14) that depicts the 2016 Month of the Military Child theme – “Their Journeys and Adventures”
- Attend Maryland Day!
This event is open to military-connected children and youth through grade 12. Speeches, photos, and drawings will be presented/exhibited at Maryland Day on the University of Maryland College Park campus on Saturday, April 30. Entries must be postmarked by 18 April and be mailed with the entry form to the following address:
