MWPPP/DECMWPPP SECRETARY

Nature of Position:

This person acts as secretary for the Mary Walker Parent Partnership Program(MWPPP) and Digital Electronic Contact Mary Walker Parent PartnershipProgram (DECMWPPP) and works under the direct supervision of the program liaison/director of these ALE programs.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma

* Proficiency in Basic Computer Knowledge Including:

> Word Processing

> Spreadsheets

> Databases

> Desktop Publishing

> Internet Awareness

* Keyboarding Skills @ 40 wpm

* Competent Skills Using Office Equipment Including:

> Copier

> Fax Machine

> Multi-line Phone

> Ten-Key Adding Machine

* Demonstrates Good Editing Skills

* Excellent Public Relations Skills

* Mature Discretion and Pleasant Disposition

Reports To:Program Director and/or High School Principal and/or Superintendent

Job Goal:

To ensure proper organization and collaboration with all parties of the MWPPP and DECMWPPP.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Receive shipments, sign and copy packing slips, and return the original packing slip in to the District Office.
  2. Post and maintain pupil personal files/financial records.
  3. Handle correspondence for the MWPPP and DECMWPPP.
  4. Maintain an effective and workable filing system for MWPPP and DECMWPPP’s office.
  5. Perform routine duties for the Mary Walker Parent Partnership Program and Digital Electronic Contact Mary Walker Parent Partnership Program and/or School Principals.
  6. Maintain order in work room and office and perform minor first aid treatment of students’ accidents and report serious injuries immediately.
  7. Make photocopies for the MWPPP and/or School Principals.
  8. Cooperate with school group and youth group representatives in notices and preparation of materials at the discretion of the MWPPP/DECMWPPP and/or School Principals.

  1. Manage telephone communications; transmit messages and control outgoing usage.

  1. Proof read and mail letters for the MWPPP and DECMWPPP programs and/or High School Principal.
  2. Prepare accurate monthly student enrollment reporting by entity/program, and by originating school district.
  3. Complete and maintain building inventories.
  4. Effectively use computer and related software along with typewriter, adding machine and copier.
  5. Desire to learn new processes as technology progresses.
  6. Accurately record and report staff and student absences.
  7. Ordering all office supplies/maintenance and staff supplies throughout the school year.
  8. Model mature and pleasant behavior.
  9. Maintain pleasant on-going communication with parents using tact and discretion.
  10. Responsible for all other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions:

Ability to stand and walk for periods of time. Standing and walking can be for extended periods of time.

Ability to bend, stoop and squat occasionally to frequently.

Capable of lifting/carrying objects weighing 0-24 lbs. frequently; 25-50 lbs. frequently, and 51-70 lbs occasionally. Can request assistance for heavy lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling. Ability to twist the upper torso and neck frequently and frequently kneel.

Must have the ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public

Limits of Authority:

Works under the authority of the Program Director and/or High School Principal and/or Superintendent.

Terms of Employment:

20 hours per week, or more.

(Subject to policies adopted by the Board of Directors for all classified employees.)

Salary:

In accordance with the classified salary schedule as determined by the Mary Walker Board of Directors.

Benefits:

In accordance with the parameters of Washington State Law and District policy.

Evaluation:

Annually by the Program Director and/or High School Principal and/or Superintendent.
