IV. SCHEDULED COMMITTEE REPORTS:

A)School Principal (Maureen Hoy): It was a busy semester for the school. First reconciliation went well with first communion scheduled for April 22/23. January 8th was the confirmation ceremony that went well. The student council sponsored a food drive. Catholic School's week was well attended. Mary Our Queen had a speaker from St Martin De Poores. Terra Nova scores were well above the national average and at or above the Archdiocese average. Seventeen percent of our graduates received scholarships to high schools. Three Mary Our Queen graduates received perfect 36 ACT scores. Kindergarten roundup had 50 signups. The new preschool has 39 enrolled for the coming year in the various time slots.

In extra curricular news, the robotics team is going to Worlds. The chess club has been very busy. The drama club is ready to start as requested by parents.(The report is attached.)

B)Ladies Guild (Maria Moise): The Guild is open to all women 18 years and older who are members of the parish. The major fundraiser is the Fall festival and raffle. This year it brought it $7,675. The guild also sells deserts at some of the Lenten fish frys. The Guild had a welcome breakfast for the new RCIA candidates, provided lunch and snacks for the confirmation students and teachers during retreat, and at Christmas served a luncheon for the rectory and school staffs. The guild participated in the donut Sunday, hosted monthly Golden Years luncheons and assisted with funeral luncheons. They have eight circles that have been involved with many service projects during the year and have adopted families for the Human needs Christmas drive. (The report is attached.)

C)Soccer Committee (Louis Sully): There were 200 kids excluding micro soccer this season. The committee sponsored a family with the ladies guild this year along with a donation to Alpha. We have some families that have been welcomed for soccer that cannot afford. The portapotty enclosure looks good. Work and materials were donated by Bobby McCall and Mike Parizek. Fences have been offset to allow access from different areas. (The Financials are attached)

Motion was made by Phil Baker and seconded by Anne Determan. The committee reports was

approved by the full council.

V.PASTOR’S REPORT:

Father talked about the steering committee regarding the 5 year strategic plan. Scott Kinnard is

heading up the committee. The parish is working on the teacher’s salaries and wants to be within

10% of the public school salaries. He noted that Sundays collections were up with the drive we

had last year. Sunday collections started at $27k before the campaign and at the end of the

campaign were up to $31k per Sunday and now at $33k. There may not be a tuition increase this

year. Father Bob discussed the ministry meetings and how the parish can get the word out to the

parishioners and the public about the different programs Mary our Queen has to offer.

VI.ASSOCIATE PASTOR’S REPORT:

Father talked about his visit back to his native Tanzania. He brought up some challenges the

priests have in their housing. One of the bigger issues is bringing water to their facility. Father has

been working with the students on upcoming sacraments. The archbishop did comment on how

well our students did.
