  • MS Wrestling Mats Quote $5600 total cost Wrestling camp will give 10% back towards mats
  • Update on UCPS Athletic WebsiteTom will find out timing in meeting on Wed.; probably use gomavericks.org for fall sports

New Business

  • MS Football Helmets– 70 helmets aged out. Matthew Tony from Riddell will speak to us

130 helmets @ $93 = $12,090 / recondition = $4937.61/year. Motion to approve purchasing new Ridell helmets every 2 years pending 2017 and 2019 pricing. Ridell will visually inspect all helmets annually and confirm resale price  APPROVED

  • Religion and SportsComplaint was addressed and discussed. It was determined that there was no merit to the complaint.
  • MS-Coach Training with James Fisher Davis and Tom Jamerson. $50 per coach. MS/HS considered a 7 year program. Training could be 1 day/sport season (fall/winter/spring). BC wants to explore paying per session. Tom to get quote for flat fee and report in June mtg.
  • Fall Registration/Dates/Coaches Meeting (Last year dates Open June 1st, Closed 6/14 Late fee 6/21)

MS football starts 7/24 with tryouts. Registration open 6/1-7/12. Late fee 7/13-7/19. Paperwork due 7/19.

  • 6th Grade Football Coach/ 14 applicants from Indeed. Process for hiring

  • Adding MS track – Coach Starr sees benefits. Program will be 3 times/week for 6-7 weeks. Waxhaw track club would run the meets (similar to field hockey, run by private organization). MS track does not pole vault. $210 fee would cover uniform and equipment costs. Starr would be in charge of whole program. Motion to add MS Track  APPROVED
