Marshall Junior High Girls’ & Boys’ Basketball Tournament

7th Grade Girls: Marshall, Lakeview, Minneota, TMB
8th Grade Girls: Marshall, Lakeview, Minneota, RTR
7th Grade Boys: Marshall, Lakeview, Minneota, TMB
8th Grade Boys: Marshall, Lakeview, Minneota, TMB
Start Time: Gym will open at 8:00 am. Warm-up for the first-round will begin at 8:40 am. First game will begin at 9:00 am. Warm-up for each round after round one will be 15 minutes. After round one, games will begin early if possible.
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee for this tournament.
Warm-up Balls: Warm-up balls and game balls will be provided by MarshallHigh School. Please do not bring warm-up balls. Please leave warm-up balls in the gym. No warm-up balls in the hallways or locker rooms please. All games for the boys will be played in the South Gymnasium and all games for the girls will be played in the North Gymnasium. All games will be played at the High School in Marshall.
Locker Rooms: Available on request. Teams may be asked to share locker room space. Please DO NOT leave articles in the locker rooms unattended.
Game Rules: Games will consist of two (2) 14:00 halves. Half-time will be 5:00. Regular bonus rules will apply. Teams will shoot 1-and-1 on the seventh team foul and two shots on the tenth team foul. No pressing if your team is ahead by 20+ points.
Hot Shot Contest: There will be a Hot Shot shooting contest following the 10:00 games. Players will have 45 seconds to shoot from designated spots on the floor. Each school will be allowed to have two participants from each grade level for both girls & boys in the contest. The top four shooters from the first round will advance to the semi-finals. The top two shooters from the semi-finals will advance to the finals. Coaches should designate their shooters when they arrive on the 17th. Please notify Coach Bot.
Concessions: Concessions will be sold on-site by the Marshall Tiger Basketball Boosters.
Trophies: Team trophies will be awarded for the Champion, Runner-up, and Third Place teams. Individual trophies will be awarded to the Champion and the Runner-up in the Hot Shot Contest for girls and boys for each grade.
