Job Purpose:To provide administrative support for the Academic Support and Welfare Department who work with studentswith disabilities or learning difficulties

Responsible to:Head of Academic Support and Student Welfare

Further Information:Term time only

Salary:Scale 3 of Support Staff Salary spine 18-21 (pro-rata if applicable).

Pension: Staff are enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme, a

contributory scheme with the option to opt out in a transitional period

Key Responsibilities:

  • To make appointments for students to receive support for learning
  • To organise student assessments
  • To liaise with the Registryto produce and maintain accurate information regarding students’needs
  • To collate and maintain data and files in either paper or electronic form
  • To produce minutes for meetings
  • General day-to-day administrative support for the department
  • To liaise with external agencies and other relevant professional organisations

General:

  • To be responsible for Health and Safety within areas of own responsibility
  • To contribute to the college responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • To observe the college’s commitment to equal opportunities
  • To take part in the College’s Performance Review and Development Scheme (PRD)
  • To undertake any other duties which are reasonably comparable to a post of this grade

Training /
  • A Levels or equivalent

  • A degree or equivalent

Relevant Experience /
  • Proven administrativeexperience
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel

  • Experience/knowledge of working in an educational environment
  • Experience of working with the public
  • Experience of using Outlook and on-line diary management
