Main purpose of role:

/ Assist the Brand Manager with developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies to achieve sales and market share objectives and profitability for the Sanitarium cereal brand portfolio.

Key accountabilities:

/ Brand Profitability
Assist in ensuring overall brand profitability for Sanitarium brands, including:
·  Formulating and implementing supporting marketing plans and strategies
·  Monitoring, evaluating and presenting brand performance indicators
·  Effectively co-ordinating all associated and supporting marketing activities
Planning
Assisting in preparing annual marketing plans, which are consistent with business unit strategies and objectives and Sanitarium’s core philosophies, including:
·  Preparing a brand/leverage/ plan, including all aspects of the marketing mix
·  Preparing the product and event marketing calendar
·  Projecting timelines
·  Overseeing implementation of agreed marketing and event objectives
·  Organising and authorising primary research to support marketing plans
·  Evaluating plan effectiveness, together with sales team, and preparing and presenting quarterly business reviews evidencing results
/ Sales and Share Achievement
Assist in developing and monitoring national sales and share achievement by:
·  Liasing with the Senior Brand Manager and Marketing Manager and Sales team to develop and agree sales value and market share objectives for assigned product(s)/ event.
·  Regularly monitoring and reviewing market and sales data
·  Comparing forecast data to actual data
Where necessary, re-evaluating marketing strategies and making recommendations for improving product and/or event performance
Financial Management
Assist with effectively managing allocated budgets within authorised limits by:
·  Together with the Brand Manager, presenting project marketing budget recommendations to Senior Brand Manager for approval
·  Accurately completing and presenting all supporting data and cost coding
·  Establishing an effective budgetary tracking system
·  Comparing actual expenditure to budget, and reporting on variances
Project Management
Complete related marketing projects including:
·  Sanitarium Electronic Direct Mail
·  Promotional plans linked to brand portfolio
·  Packaging designs and enhancements
·  Product enhancements
·  New product development
·  Research projects
·  Financial and market share monthly reporting
Promotional Management
Assist with leading promotional management for the Sanitarium brand portfolio as well as assisting in directing and communicating promotion and advertising activity to support other Sanitarium brands. including:
·  Monitoring and evaluating advertising and promotional program effectiveness, including ROI and reach
·  Developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with external suppliers
·  writing effective advertising, media, promotional and PR briefs
·  Supporting trade promotional efforts through collaborative planning, implementation and evaluation activities

Education: Tertiary qualifications

·  University Degree preferably with Marketing Major

Experience:

·  Minimum 6 months - 1 year marketing experience.
·  Exposure to new product development and research projects (qualitative and quantative including sensory),
·  Experience in promotional campaign. Media and creative campaigns would be an advantage.
·  Previous field sales experience an advantage, preferably within FMCG or related industry.
·  Exposure to a variety of creative marketing techniques.
