For the past 20 years, Dr. Lindle has been involved in the health and fitness field as an educator, researcher, and consultant. Currently, she is an adjunct faculty member in the Kinesiology Department, at the University of Maryland,School of Public Health, where she teaches a variety of exercise physiology courses and conducts research in the area of exercise and aging. Her research has been published in a variety of sources including the Journal of Applied Physiology, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, and the Journal of Gerontology. She has authored chapters in several text books including the YMCA Personal Trainer Manuel. Additionally, she has served as a reviewer for several professional journals and textbook publishers, and as an exam reviewer/item writer for the AmericanCollege of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and American Council on Exercise (ACE).
Dr. Lindle has been a consultant to various government, corporate and non-profit agencies including the United States Secret Service (USSS), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), Naval Research Labs (NRL), YMCA of the USA, Maryland and the District of Columbia Fire and Rescue, and SportFIT Training Centers. She is a dynamic motivational speaker and regularly presents keynotes, training seminars and wellness workshops nationally for professional organizations as well various government agencies and corporate groups.
Dr. Lindle practices what she preaches. She teaches a variety of fitness classes including indoor cycling, sport conditioning, kick-boxing, yoga, pilates and Zumba.

Worked full time at the University of Maryland from 1995 until 2004, when she left to devote more time to outside consulting work. In her current capacity as adjunct faculty, she teachesthree - four classes each year and recently developed online versions of several courses.

Research:
Dr. Lindle has conducted research and published papers in the area of exercise and aging, muscle physiology, biomechanics, and genetics. She was awarded an NIH, IRTA fellowship for her doctoral work, which involved developing the muscle strength assessment protocol for the NIH Baltimore Longitudinal Study on Aging (BLSA) and testing 600+ subjects ranging in age from 18 to 94. For her Dissertation, she examined the effects of aging on concentric and eccentric muscle actions. Shehas continued and expanded that work to examine possible mechanisms involved in the loss of muscle function with age including neuroendocrine and genetic aspects.

2. NAVEL RESEARCH LABS
Ergonomics Consultant/Contractor 2006 to Present
Responsible for the implementation of an ergonomics program at NRL’s main site in Washington, DC and other local remote sites. This program seeks to prevent injuries and illnesses through the identification, evaluation, and control of ergonomic hazards for work-related musculoskeletal disorders and the tracking of acute back injuries. This includes: (1) identifying specific codes or operations that are at high risk for experiencing cumulative trauma disorders (CTD); (2) performing job task analyses on those areas or employees identified at high risk; (3) developing methods to improve work practices and equipment, and (4) training employees to perform their task in ways that will improve productivity and reduce the number of CTDs.
3. UNITED STATES SECRET SERVICE (USSS)
Consultant, Contractor 2005 to present
Primary responsibilities included development, supervision and instruction of the USSS Fitness Coordinator Certification Program, development and instruction of the Fitness, and Nutrition Course for the USSS Recruits, and evaluation of the current fitness assessment protocol and recommendations for revisions to more accurately reflect job specificity. Initiated a pilot study to examine the predictive value and efficacy of implementing a functional movement screen and pre-hab program with the recruits.
4. MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE AND RESCUE
Consultant 2003 to 2010
Primary responsibilities included development and implementation of programs to enhance the health and fitness of Montgomery County firefighters/rescuers. Involved the development and delivery of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, Peer Fitness Trainer Program. This program is part of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Wellness, Fitness Initiative and prepares selected fire fighters to sit for the ACE/IAFF Peer Fitness Trainer Certification. This program included teaching the peer fitness trainers how to perform task
analyses and design training programs to enhance job performance and reduce the risk of injury in their fellow fire-fighters and EMS personnel
5. DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA FIRE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
Consultant/Contractor: 2007 - 2010
- Responsible for the development and delivery of a peer-fitness trainer program. This 8-week program prepared the peer-trainers to take the ACE Personal Trainer Certification
Exam.
- Authored the DCFEMS Fitness Training Manual developed specifically for DC fire and emergency medical personnel.
- Also served as a consultant on the administration and implementation of a peer-fitness program and the initiation of cardiovascular stress testing
6. CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL / NATIONAL CENTER FOR HEALTH STATISTICS

Consultant and quality control expert for the fitness and muscle strength testing components of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey for the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) a branch of the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Responsibilities include development of the testing protocol, training of technicians, and analysis and publication of the data in conjunction with the NCHS.

Responsible for planning and developing a new CountyBranch (Bowie Family YMCA). Directed all services and programming at the YMCA facility and extension locations throughout Prince Georges County. Supervised a staff of 30+ employees and was responsible for a ~$1,000,000.00 budget. Other responsibilities included marketing and promotions, special events and fund raising. Served on the YMCA Association Health and Fitness Safety Board and was elected as the Health and Fitness “Regional Coordinator” for the Mid-Atlantic Area. This position includedstrategic planning and development of National health and fitness certifications, and training programs.

1) Health and Fitness Certification Programs: Contributed to the planning and development of YMCA certifications for Personal Trainers, Group Exercise Instructors, and Exercise Specialists including, the new Foundations of Strength and Conditioning Course, a pre-requisite for the Personal Trainer Certification. 1
