Position Overview

The Stanley marketing department is looking for an organized and detail-oriented marketing/ communications person that can provide administrative support to the team. The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for supporting the marketing team in the creation of the Stanley brand’s sales and marketing materials and for maintaining and administering marketing product, materials,samples, and online community engagement and management.

To be successful in this position the right person must be very detail oriented and organized. They must have a deep understanding of MS Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word with a proven ability to input and move copy and data from one document or presentation to another with complete accuracy and visual integrity. This person will also need to be a clear communicator with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating marketing materials in PowerPoint i.e.: Sales Master PowerPoint, Sales Sell Sheets, Press Product Fact Sheets, etc.
  • Update copy from the master copy documents for use with retailers, distributors, brand web sites, other marketing collateral, etc.
  • Proof copy for various marketing materials (web, catalog, press product fact sheets etc)
  • Regularly upload images, files and content to web specifically on our Resource Center and brand web sites.
  • Manage the inventory of all marketing assets and samples both at our in-office warehouse and off-site storage.
  • Execute all aspects of the Stanley product sample process including forecasting (populating Demantra), ordering samples, tracking shipments, labeling samples for customers, organizing the sample room, shipping and receiving large sample shipments around major trade shows and events.
  • Support the trade marketing manager in calling vendors, creating travel packets, organizing sales tools and marketing assets for key trade meetings (OR Sales meeting), Trade Shows (OR & OutDoor) and Trade Events (regional trade shows & Walmart Shareholders Day)
  • Support the sales team, the trade marketing manager and account management teams in helping to distribute promotional materials and merchandising to our broader sales team (US reps and global distributors).
  • Support Consumer Digital Marketing
  • Assist in digital and e-commerce activities
  • Community management: branded responses to consumer comments onlinein collaboration with customer service and Consumer Marketing Manager via social media and e-commerce tools such as Bazaarvoice
  • Provide branded content and materials to key e-retailers / account managers
  • Capture digital data and help consumer marketing manager create metrics reports on social & digital activities.
  • Work with the graphics team in creating materials as required supporting the above mentioned marketing materials.
  • Other duties as necessary

Proficiencies

  • Detail oriented with an ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills with proven knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel. (Examples and test will be given)
  • Highly organized with an ability to juggle varying deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone.
  • Good personal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Education and Experience

  • 4 Year college degree, plus 2 years’ experience working in a professional business setting.
  • Communications, Service or PR background a plus
  • Experience inOnline Community required

Interaction and Environment

  • Reports To: Stanley Trade Marketing Manager
  • Work areas are inside in a climate-controlled environment with moderate background noise.

Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions

  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: Approximately 80% of time is spent working at a desk. Balance of time (approximately 20%) is spent moving around work areas and organizing product samples.
  • Speaking/Hearing: Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and outside agencies, by telephone and in person.
  • Vision: Ability to effectively use a computer screen and interpret printed materials, memos and other appropriate paperwork.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Ability to transport files and supplies.
  • Stooping/Kneeling: Ability to access files and supplies.
  • Reaching/Handling: Ability to input information into computer systems and retrieve and work with appropriate paperwork, equipment and supplies.
