Course Title:URBAN FLOOD RESPONSE – Level I (Awareness)

Course Description: This is an introduction to the problems associated with first responderflood responses in urban or built-up areas. This course includes Victim Rescue, Animal Rescue, HAZMAT Response, Fire Response, Utility Hazards, Structural Integrity Issues, Physical Hazards, Jurisdiction, Operating in the Marine Environment, Planning and Preparedness, Problems Unique to Marine Responses, Response and Tactical Considerations, Safety and Incident Management.

Target Audience:Appropriate target audiences include firefighters, fire officers, EMTs, paramedics, EMS officers, police officers, police supervisors, emergency management personnel and others. Private sector agency personnel may also benefit from this program

Objectives:The course is designed to motivate and enable firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, police officers and emergency management personnel to recognize and understand the hazards encountered in flood response in an urban environment.
