The Commission, assisted by independent experts, has completed the evaluation of proposalssubmitted to the above call. The names of all the experts used in relation to this theme will bepublished on CORDIS, on an annual basis.

Applicants have been notified (via e-mail), or will be shortly, of the results of the evaluation.They will receive an Evaluation Summary Report (ESR) containing the evaluators’ marks andcomments on their proposal.

The results of the evaluation by experts are summarised below:

Number of proposals submitted: 141

Number of ineligible proposals: 0

Number of proposals on the ranked list: 41

Number of proposals retained on a reserve list: 10

The exact number of proposals that the Commission can finally fund depends on the availablebudget, the outcome of negotiations, and the completion of the formal procedures.

Information on the selected projects will be published on CORDIS once grant agreements have been established.

Key to the status of the evaluated proposals

A: Ranked proposal retained for negotiation

B: Proposal on the reserve list

C: Rejected proposal

Proposals with an A status will be invited to enter into contract negotiations. The negotiationswill take place between the Commission Services and the proposal co-ordinator. These contractnegotiations will fix all contract details, and in particular the “Description of work”, the fundingto be allocated to the project and its start date.

Proposals with a B status are on the reserve list. Funding for these projects could be availabledepending primarily on the outcome of the negotiation of proposals of status A. Applicants willbe contacted in due time either to enter into contract negotiations or informing them that thereserve list is closed and that their project has to be rejected because of lack of funding.

Proposals with a C status may have passed all thresholds, but cannot be retained due to budgetaryconstraints or have failed any of the required thresholds. These proposals will be submitted to aformal rejection procedure and will receive a rejection letter from the Commission.
