JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
The Process Engineer position is responsible for developing an optimized manufacturing process with the goal of increasing efficiency and productivity to reduce labor costs and improve quality.

Essential Functions

  1. Initiate DFM (design for manufacture) and DFA (design for assembly) directives within development group.
  2. Provide manufacturing expertise in product development.
  3. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using computer based drafting tools and 3D modeling techniques.
  4. Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine ideal manufacturing processes, staff requirements and production standards.
  5. Conduct study and analyses of sequence of operations, material flow and production reports and recommend optimizations.
  6. Prepare Operational Plans and work flow based upon review of technical documents.
  7. Generate graphical representations of industrial production systems

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience

  1. BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  2. Minimum five (5) years of experience in machine tooling and fixture design in an electronics manufacturing environment with proven reliability.
  3. Experience in 3D modeling and design for electro-mechanical products.
  4. Established knowledge of available tooling and equipment to optimize production
  5. Experience in safe work environments and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Experience working in a Research and Development environment for electrical components (i.e. printers).
  2. Knowledge of Solidworks.

Work Environment

This position is situated in a manufacturing environment and may be subject to conditions that are often found in an industrial setting. All conditions are within permissible workplace health and safety regulations and some personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in order to ensure the employee’s safety.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Infrequent travel to vendor/customer/sister sites, or other locations, to obtain a better understanding of Company, Products, Industry and/or technology may be needed.
