Greetings again Mansfield Quality Pro's,
Apologies again for the late newsletter.
Brrrrrrrr!!!!! Shorter colder days, football, and Fall harvest. We are here!
And our October Mansfield ASQ meeting is as soon as possible. . . . .This Thursday, October 8th!
Another fine meeting has been planned for you. The October meeting is at the Lexington Senior Center. Our speaker is Jim Spichiger. Jim works in Newark, Ohio and is very active in ASQ on a national basis. He has great experience in many areas of ASQ that he can share with us. And aligning with China's Harvest Festival, we will be getting the meal brought in from Happy House, a Chinese restaurant 2 blocks from the Senior Civic Center. So this Thursday(Oct. 8) should be a fine evening of fellowship, food, and an education on ASQ and Professional Certifications. Come join us!
Per our Certification Chair, Janice, the last day to register for any exams given on December 5th is October 16th.

What? : “The Value of Professional Certifications” by Jim Spichiger , our ASQ Director
Competition is a fact of life. So to help gain a competitive edge, it is advantageous to have a work force that is proficient in the principles and practices of quality. The best and easiest way to demonstrate this proficiency is through professional certification. Certifications are advantageous to both individuals and employers because they validate that the workforce has the skills and knowledge to ensure the quality of their products and services. ASQ offers 17 different professional certifications ranging from inspector and technician to manger and master black belt. Come listen and learn how certification is an investment in an individual’s career and in the future of their employer.

Mr. Spichiger has over thirty years experience in the quality profession as an executive, manager, coach, engineer and auditor. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University, is a licensed Professional Quality Engineer and holds seven ASQ Certifications. He is an ASQ Fellow, a two time Malcolm Baldrige examiner and a former member of both ASQ Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Quality New Jersey. Currently Mr. Spichiger is Chair Elect for the ASQ Inspection Division; he chairs the ASQ Crosby Medal Committee; and is actively involved in his local ASQ Section. In addition to teaching many ASQ certification refresher courses, he has presented at numerous meetings and conferences on a wide variety of quality related topics.

9.) NOPA stands for the Northcentral Ohio Personnel Association. It has about 135 members
from Ashland / Richland and surrounding counties. NOPA is an affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management.
They meet at the Westbrook Country Club and begin at 11:30 am and end around 1:00 pm. The cost is $10 for NOPA members and $12 for guests.
