Accredited Certification International Limited

Introduction

The government has already launched a public consultation on Mandatory Building Inspection in late 2005. It has been decided that the proposal will be passed to the legislative council for discussion in 2007. At that time, owners of private buildings aged 30 years or above are required to engage qualified inspectors (AP) to inspect their buildings and undertake the necessary repair works as specified by the inspectors. Unfortunately, most owners are not familiar with the legal procedures or do not have any knowledge concerning building inspection and maintenance. Therefore, they often encounter tremendous difficulties in carrying out building inspection and maintenance. The repair work was not done at a satisfactory level.

In light of these obstacles encountered by owners, Accredited Certification International Limited now presents Building Repair Compliance Assessment (BRCA) to serve the industry. It serves as a user-friendly mechanism to support owners to carry out building inspection.

Building Repair Compliance Assessment (BRCA)

BRCA is initiated by owners who are affected by the implementation of Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS). It aims at providing a comprehensive consulting service. From seeking a qualified inspector to carrying out repair, it is widely accepted that the current tort and judiciary mechanism is highly burdensome. As a result, Building Repair Compliance Assessment serves as a comprehensive support network by providing professional consulting services on building inspection and maintenance.

This assessment will help owners to contact qualified inspectors, apply any relevant and suitable loan services, and prepare all necessary documents. Owners can then carry out building maintenance in a more efficient, affordable and amicable manner.

Most importantly, this assessment includes a third party monitoring service. A professional assessor will be involved to monitor the service quality of AP and maintenance work. By ensuring the service quality, the risk of unfinished projects can be greatly reduced.
