Mandate of the Action Group on Exploited and Vulnerable Women:
- provide advice, strategic direction and assistance to the Manitoba government in addressing the crisis of exploited and vulnerable women in Manitoba in a co-ordinated and centralized manner;
- share and exchange information, while respecting the confidentiality of ongoing investigations and the privacy of grieving families, about community activities and trends, current government programs and initiatives, and policing efforts to address the issues surrounding missing and murdered women;
- review, monitor and evaluate Manitoba’s actions to date in implementing recommendations arising from inquests and reports that focus on vulnerable and exploited women, especially Aboriginal women; and
- review other jurisdictions’ initiatives and efforts in addressing issues relating to missing and murdered women.
