Security Technician/Coordinator, Corporate

BURNCO Rock Products Ltd (BURNCO) andTricycle Lane Ranches Ltd (TLR) is seeking a Security Technician for our Corporate Office located in Calgary, AB. Reporting directly to the Corporate Security Manager, the Security Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily security operations of the company’s portfolio of primarily industrial properties located in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. This role is a combination of field work and corporate office environments. The ideal candidate must be proactive, detail oriented, assertive and demonstrate exceptional communication skills. This person will find that problem solving comes naturally, but always maintains the highest quality standards.

Working as an integral part of the BURNCO/TLR team, this individual must have a positive attitude and a collaborative approach when working with colleagues and clients. In addition, as our company continues to grow, this individual needs to have the flexibility and adaptability to thrive within changing roles and new responsibilities.

The role and key responsibilities:

  • Install and service alarm systems. Honeywell / DSC
  • Install and service access control systems
  • Install and service CCTV IP systems. BOSCH / Hikvision.
  • Perform comprehensive site security audits
  • Train and supervise subcontractors during security installation
  • Perform alarm panel downloads using Honeywell Compass and Alarmnet web client
  • Test system communications with Operations Centre
  • Train end users on alarm operation and CCTV equipment use
  • Manage key system; operate key-cut machine and manage key database
  • Develop and update company security procedures
  • Prioritize service tickets based on security risk level
  • Access Control card management; print and deliver access cards to end users
  • Maintain adequate and accurate equipment inventory
  • Manage orders from security suppliers and work with CFO to manage finances on projects
  • May require occasional travel within Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 Years of low voltage alarm installation.
  • Electronics Engineering Technology diploma considered an asset
  • Knowledge of ULC requirements considered an asset
  • Experience with Access Control systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities including exceptional telephone etiquette
