Management Trainee Engineer

As a Trainee we aim to equip you with an appreciation of the Company’s overall business and an in-depth knowledge of the engineering functionswithin that Business. Thereafter, subject to your performance and a suitable vacancy, it will be the intention to offer an appropriate permanent position.

The successful candidate will have an Appraisal every three months to determine progress made. At the expiry of eighteen months, the Trainee’s progress will be reviewed to determine the suitability of the Trainee for further training, subject to examination results.

Following and subject to the review at eighteen months, the next thirty months will be to gain further experience and qualifications in order to establish an identifiable career path.

The Role:

  • Undertake engineering external works design (under supervision of Engineer)
  • Submission of utilities applications for new developments
  • Producing engineering CAD drawings
  • Production of Legal Conveyance Plans
  • Attendance at Meetings
  • Appreciation/Design of roads and sewers utilising WinDes & PDS
  • Instructing external consultants
  • Picking up / dropping off data as required
  • General day to day administration, i.e. taking calls, filing, ‘e’ mails etc.

The Person:

  • It will be necessary for the Trainee to enrol on a day release university course (ONC/HNC/degree etc.), which is relevant to their job role, for the duration of the 3 years.
  • A minimum 3 ‘A’ Levels at Grade C or above (subject to other qualities).
  • The trainee will be expected to undertake a CSCS course to equip them with the required certificate to attend sites
  • IT knowledge and Computer Aided Design (CAD) desirable.

In order to be successful in this role you must be able to prove eligibility to work in the UK.

The successful candidate is required to have a full, clean UK driving licenseor progressing towards a FULL License in the near future.
